#Patriots fans defending Brady say there’s no direct evidence against him. Circumstantial evidence was more than enough to convict Hernandez

Ya let's compare it to a homicide where Hernandez's DNA was at the crime scene you f*cking hack
That is amazing to me. His editor needs to sit him down and give him a lecture on reality and relevance.

When do they begin the investigation on the Colts 4 underinflated balls or is that already in progress?

the problem is that there isn't any circumstantial evidence either. There's no evidence at all the TB had any involvement in this

Right. And the legal system requires a much higher burden of proof than does the NFL RT @claireebird: @BenVolin this isn’t a court of law.

Sure, Benjy. Brady was photographed on a security camera holding the gun........

This report makes no sense whatsoever. The starting pressures of each set of balls are only assumed, not measured.

And if you go to the 'science' appendix, Table 1o predicts that just from temperature change alone, the Patriots balls should have lost 1.13 psi and Colts balls 1.15 psi, if they indeed started at 12.5 and 13.0 psi respectively as assumed.

The halftime measurements then show the Patriots balls to have lost 1.01-1.39 in pressure on average, within the range of predictions, while the Colts balls lost LESS than predicted by the equations (0.45-1.01 psi). Huh? How does that happen without tampering?

This discrepancy is completely ignored in the report. No one bothers to notice or explain how the Colts balls decided to defy the laws of nature. To my eye, that's way more suspicious.

The most damning thing in the report that I can see is the difference in variability in final pressures, but even that observation is meaningless without anyone having recorded the initial pressures. What idiots!

The release of that report today also made Rand Gatlin land on my ****list.

Kudos to Ted Wells and his staff on conducting such a thorough investigation. And kudos to the NFL for aggressively seeking out the truth.

Interested to see how Brady is punished. If the sanctions are too light, others will believe the reward of cheating far outweighs the risk.

Conversely, if the NFL imposes significant sanctions on Brady, et al, it is 'more probable than not' that it will deter similar conduct.

Who/what is a Rand Getlin? And why should we note what he tweets?

That's not clear at all. Again, it's the problem of texts without context, which has been the probllem with both Wells investigations.

This right here times 100. More than a few planned 'evenings' have been ruined by the ambiguity of context of texts. Ultimately if a case hinges on informal texts messages than it can lead to false conclusions.

On the larger topic, this is and continues to be a largely unimportant story. It's an acorn nurtured to an oak tree by a silly media and an even sillier NFL league office.

If Brady is punished at all, it will be a crock of ****. There isn't any evidence that he did anything wrong. Just Wells taking a guess that he and the organization acted with malice. If he's suspended the entire season, I won't be following the NFL at all in 2015.
I have to agree with this. If it's the full season, I may never watch NFL football ever again. Which would suck, because it's a passion of mine. I just have full on hatred for Sharks of Vegas and that flunky from 98.5 right now.

I agree that Goodell is a big time assclown, but I can't see him suspending Brady. Brady is one of the premier players in the league and is one of the faces of it. Him getting suspended may be more detrimental to the game than anything.
At this time its more about Goodell satisfying his image especially after the Ray Rice fiasco. Both cases are not even remotely the same but Goodell has no objectivity.

That was done on March 8th at 8am and completed on March 8th at 8:04am.

They found steroids, crack pipes, Oxycontin and a meth lab trailer with the label "Irsay's Stuff" but found nothing to prove that the Colts deflated footballs.

Patriots: Here is our explanation. Wells: OK, I don't believe you.

That was the same exchange between BB and the Omissioner regarding Cameraplacementgate.

This report is biased and highly suspect. 1. No definitive finding of wrong doing. 2. Interpretation of E-mails that are open to question. 3. Indicting a man character with suspect evidence that would be laughed out of court. 4. If Brady is suspended and appeals a netural and unbiased hearings officer would overrule that suspension without question. 4. If tom Brady chooses to go after Wells for defamation of character he probably more than likely would obtain a judgment against him. Now is the time for the Pats to stand up to the commish.

Beginning of what? Discipline for TB12?

You can't discipline a player that "probably" did something.

Even a Cro-Magnon like Goodell wouldn't do that.

Logic and reason would agree with you, but unfortunately I think both have left the building with regards to this report

This is so f'ing stupid.
Here are my issues:

1. 'Probable' - not beyond a reasonable doubt
2. It seems like everything is through text messages and things were implied, no real investigation.
2. 243 pages for the stupidest investigation ever.

Sorry Goodell, but you suck

For those slamming Kraft, his "capitulation" is thus... "While I respect the independent process of the investigation, the time, effort and resources expended to reach this conclusion are incomprehensible to me. Knowing that there is no real recourse available, fighting the league and extending this debate would prove to be futile."

He outright stated in multiple ways that the report is BS, but he is right in saying there's really nothing he can do about it. What do you want him to do? All he can really do is stick up for his guys publicly, which is what he's doing.

I hope brady appeals . Even ray rice appealed.
