@AdamSchefter: Non-Deflate-Gate Patriots' news: former New England and Buffalo LB Brandon Spikes is in Foxboro today for visit with Patriots, per source.

@RapSheet: In non-Ted Wells news: Former #Patriots LB Brandon Spikes is in New England on a FA visit. With plenty of bags, primed to stay a while

Not sure people will read this but PowWwWwW

Well THIS timing is the very definition of "under the radar". :D

Because he loved his first "4 years a slave"...

We have literally no depth at LB, especially with Hightower's injury, so I'd be fine with him even though he's just a two down player.

Love Spikes on 1st and 2nd down.

Less so on 3rd down, or on social media. o_O

I'd love to have him back at the right $ amount with a clear understanding of his role. Always loved his fire and intensity which is something we lost with Browner leaving.

I've always liked Spikes. I don't think they need him but his teammates liked playing with him.

If both sides can make a business relationship work for a year, then I think it makes a lot of sense. He's a starting-quality base defense LB who would be one injury (perhaps Hightower's current one) from a starting base role but thankfully a second LB injury from being needed in the nickel defense.

I hope he comes back. While he wouldn't be much of a help vs. Indy or Denver, he'd be a great asset vs. the Bills & Jets.

I'd love to see him back on the team.

**** yeah!!! Pooowwwwww

Since The Pats have other options for pass rushing this would be a nice move.

I also welcome him back, have to remember these are just kids... like our own who sometimes they say stupid things, and we forgive them...

Playing for the football equivalent of Siberia showed Spikes he was actually in a good place in NE.

I would love for Brandon Spikes to come back. His intensity on D is great and he wouldn't be asked to do too much.

Some good news on an otherwise ****ty news day, football-wise. Hope they bring him back.

Sign him just to put the hurt on some Colts players, that'll do for me.

Love Spikes on 1st and 2nd down.

Less so on 3rd down, or on social media. o_O
I don't love him on 1st and 2nd down either. Because the NFL is a passing league. A linebacker that can't cover against the pass is a liability on any down.
