Funny.........current players on the offense roster are likely sitting comfortably at home/Kentucky Derby without a worry in the world.......while half the D roster is ****tin bricks wondering if they'll have a roster spot in a few months..........................................or maybe not

While I agree about covering kicks, what is to say that he won't be able to handle being a safety? He's just doesn't have speed. He's also got quickness and agility that compares closely to the likes of Kam Chancellor and other good Safeties.. The question becomes how does diagnosing plays in front of him.. He did play OLB for Miss. St. and did drop into coverage for them.. Not saying that he WILL be a Kam Chancellor but there is nothing that says he won't either.

I certainly think that there is potential for something like that to happen. To pretend otherwise would be silly. However I think that if they were truly projecting the guy to play a role that they historically place a lot of emphasis on he likely would have been taken earlier regardless of drafting or league consensus like Richards for example. They usually earmark those 5th-6th round picks for special teams guys and take their athlete gambles in the seventh. All indicators seem to point to projecting him as a special teams guy and I think anything other than that is unwarranted optimism. Intriguing athlete and if he can see the field on downs 1-3, hey all the better. However just looking at his position and measurables he screams ST'er which isn't a bad thing or a knock on him at all.

For all the people who want us to pick up Lael Collins (myself included)... The best chance of us actually getting him is for him to go undrafted. He has openly said he would not play this year if drafted after the 3rd, and being drafted would allow him to sit out this year and resubmit his name for the 2016 draft. If he goes undrafted he CANNOT declare again next year and must sign with n NFL team if he intends to play a down in this league. As a UDFA I think the pats would have a good chanceto sign hhim and would be able to get him for a cheap 3 year contract
That's interesting. Does that mean he did himself a disservice by saying he would not play if drafted after 3rd, thus scaring off potentially interested teams?

I realise this isn't a recommendation for some, but PFF have been loving the Patriots draft. At the attached link there's a statistical comparison between Wells and Shaq Thompson. Spoiler alert. Wells wins.

Maybe it's bcause the PFF guys care about football players and not the shiny things? If they are good, I'm good.

NOBODY cries in their clam chowder, Brit. It's already hella salty. Now crying in their baked beans, yeah, I could see the beans needing some seasoning.Of course they could cry in their half finished mugs of Sam Adams and get themselves a second head on their flat beers...

Really? We're typing the r in Chowda now? I don't do that and I live in virginia...

Yes, but that's because I thought they'd be looking at getting one in round 2. Now that round 2 is gone, I'm not surprised.

Do you think that BB was looking a Byron Jones in the first? The rumors of a trade came not long after he came off the board. He seems like the type of player that would fit with the team.

Bills just grabbed jack's grandson, I was hoping the pats would take him

I don't have any idea, honestly. I know that I was leery of Jones. Then again, my favorite of the "other" CBs was Darby, whom a lot of the draftniks here didn't like. Rex took him, so I'll get to watch him a lot and see if he progresses.

I disagree. Byron Jones is a bit o "Combine Hero", getting first round praise after his awesome combine. On film, he isn't as good. I don't think he was a fit here.

They didn't have to trade up far to get him so probably not - and I say that as his biggest fan by far hereabouts. Still hurts.

Personally, I think Byron Jones is bad and the fact that he went in the 1st round is a testament to Combine hype more than actual playing ability. Covering NFL receivers is a big leap from covering Temple receivers. I would have been really disappointed if they drafted Jones. This probably isn't a popular opinion, though.

Sorry but I disagree 100%. Great tape, great athlete, great character. We'll see how he develops but I think the Cowboys got a steal.

JaCorey Shepherd to the Iggles. Shame.

Hopefully you are wrong lol :p

come on Bill, throw me a bone...

Nick Marshall

Or

Darren Waller

Or

Dres Anderson (son of flipper)

Wells is legally blind in one eye? According to BSPN

Same here. He is kind of an eye test guy, so who knows. He has the best chance of all DBs in this draft to be the next great CB. Not saying he will, but his potential is sky high with coaching.
