Here is a guy the Patriots wanted but they waited too long screwing around with safeties and DEs. It will be open season on the Patriots secondary next season.
So we went into the draft with many posters saying "BB will definitely trade up, there's not room for 9 picks on this roster."
It appears we will end the day with BB taking 11 players...
Quiet, you with your misinformation. You got my hopes up.Looks like the Pats got GBs 5th, 6th, and 7th round pickspicks
Any lingering thoughts of the Patriots re-signing Dan Connolly are history now. Five years as a versatile, quality starter. Not bad for an undrafted free agent that somehow managed to persevere after four years of bouncing back and forth from the practice squad. One of his four NFL kick returns was very memorable too.
Josh Kline's days as a Patriot appear to be numbered, which is not a bad thing. Ryan Wendell can soon return to being a backup who can fill in when an inevitable injury occurs. Bottom line is that the quality of not only the starting offensive line improves, but so does the depth. Not an easy feat to accomplish when you lose one starter, and two in two seasons (Mankins).

Yes, they apparently were devastated when he was selected.
Speculation on the Sports Hub is that they wanted to keep Brett Hundley out of the division...
I hear you there, but I don't mind this, either. I am almost looking forward to him trading 166 again for another 7th and just poaching the leftovers he likes at the end.I wish he'd go back to the old strategy of trading into the next year for a pick a round higher. That's a good way to eventually end up with a rolling second 1st round pick.

They worked him out privately and he had one of the top cone drill times at the combineHow do you know they wanted another slot corner?
