...smells like a bust.

sorry rump swabs.

In this era of extreme specialization, why does he smell like a bust to you? What are the deficiencies that you feel can't be overcome?

I like this pick, let's load in pass rushers.

Jermaine Cunningham
  • hands 10 3/8"

Geneo Grissom

  • hands 10 2/8"

heh heh heh heh...an EIGHTH Of an inch shorter??

BUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this year front seven looks day by day stronger and stronger...

BENVENUTO ANCHE TU AI PATRIOTS, GENEO !

now 7 picks still...3 in the 4th...
i think we should draft OL CB WR RB

Grissom is a depth player who offers positional versatility and can contribute on special teams. Guess we felt getting depth at DE/LB was a need. The 4.81 footspeed worries me, that number is more for an on the line DE or an inside linebacker rather than an OLB. We'll just have to see what role he can play for us.

Very interesting this one, I think Mike Loyko said Grissom was his toughest analysis since Jamie Collins. He's certainly the type of player to take a flyer on at the end of round three and could be another Ninkovich/Colvin/TBC.

Or he could be another Jake Bequette! :D

Like this pick a lot. Highlights looks great (when don't they?) but love the versatility it'll provide if he turns even into just a solid rotational guy. And if he can cover a tight end sweet baby Jesus ...

Before the draft began we were all led to believe that there were only about 5 openings on this team.. so the Pats draft players who are intelligent and versatile, and all of a sudden they are concerned about failure..

"Pats draft myopia" is a condition that is characterized by the lack of recognition that most NFL teams have draft hits and misses and only the Patriots can make a mistake...

This ain't over until it is over..

Remember the insane never ending discussion about drafting a WR who could "stretch the field"???? Somehow despite this shortcoming we just won another Superbowl...

An increasing number of individuals around here must spend their nights in cribs and days in strollers...

a 5th round grade with one of the last picks in the 3d round isn't the worst thing in the world. I can be on board with this.

Still can't believe what we did in the 2nd. F***

I have to ask this every year. A 5th round grade from who? You make it seem as if BB skips over a bunch of players he has rated higher to make his picks. My guess is both the Patriots picks on day 2 were drafted right where he had them rated. Not where Mel F'n Kiper had them rated.

Not sure if this had been posted, but good recap of BB's thoughts on Grissom.

Dang, I can't remember last time I heard BB gush over a pick like this. Sure he always throws out the token platitudes but this was almost of the level of in between the lines he's saying to the rest of the league "I don't know what the **** tapes y'all were watching but this dude can play ball and I just stole him at the end of day 2"

I just hope he isn't another Bequette.

Thank god we spent a 2nd round pick on a slow safety who "should be able to contribute in the kicking game". Should line up next to Tavon Wilson on special teams. We are the ONLY team to draft special teams players in the 2nd round.
Stop hyperventilating. Bill has a good track record of success.;)

I like this pick a lot more than I like the Richards pick. Grissom was wreaking havoc on Alabama all throughout the Sugar Bowl a couple of years ago. He shouldn't be used in coverage too often as he lacks the athleticism to do so on a regular basis but as a rotational 5-tech, he should be a nice piece to have. He needs to work on his technique a bit more at the next level but the team could probably use another pass rusher, given the state of the secondary, and they got one.

Beat me to it. This was pre-MCL and if I'm right, pre-stress issues in both feet?
