So the Patriots have armed themselves with a very nice DT, a highly intelligent SS, an athletic freak DE/LB/TE, plus three 4ths, one 5th, two 6ths and one 7th.

I'm excited, are you?
Sure, who wouldn't be excited about drafting a 6th rounder in the 2nd and a 5th rounder in the 3rd, I'm very excited about our mediocre draft. Bottom line, we wound up with a 1st, three 4ths, two 5ths (Grissom included) three 6ths (Richards included) and one 7th. Color me excited about our wasted picks.

I was a very intelligent safety in my younger days but you would never had wanted me to play safety for the Pats. It's like saying your blind date has a great personality

I can only imagine if Richards gets beat on the first play of preseason. Christ this critisism spiraled out of control fast. Just won the super bowl...

It's a rite of passage for some. Despite being unquestionably a top 5 GM by virtually every measure, you gotta get your kicks in about those second rounders. I just laugh.

Starting to go on a deep dive of the interwebz on Richards. He's beginning to remind me a lot of a more physical version James Sanders...which isn't completely horrible.

Funny, James is exactly who I thought of when I saw the footage.

Safety was one of the strongest and deepest positions on our team.

McCourty may be taking on more CB duties, but even aside from that I disagree. You have Devin, Pat and then a bunch of guys that may be good and may not be. And not a one of those guys is a true wood layer.

Another Jamie Collins would be a nice thing. :)

Once again, that's who I thought of as well. Bill is hitting the front 7 hard. I'm psyched.

Jackson, Greene, Smelter, Jarrett, Clemmings, Ajayi, all still ripe for the taking. Some good players left to be added tomorrow. Can't wait!

I'm not writing off Bradley Fletcher and Sheard is a beast.
It's clear we are taking boy scouts in the draft after the Hernandez fiasco I have no doubt that Kraft has requested a very small draft board.
If we walk away with one of Smelter, Diggs, Greene, Hardy, a guard a back a freak athletic defensive back.
I think BB was caught off guard that Coates and Conley went when they did.
Easy to get caught off guard when you don't draft them.

Well ... my decision to give up making Patriots mocks is looking good.

Tom Brady sure covers him some ills, don't he?

Ills? Oh wait, were you one of those who thought is was over, and Tom was in decline after the Chiefs game last year? Have a nice evening/morning Dues.

But...you'll still be there on opening night cheering your favorite team to a W against ****sburgh.
I feel the same way about the draft...I do every year! But, it seems like it always comes together no matter how screwed up the previous draft seemed.

I suspect a WR, OG and RB in the 4th... Also I doubt we keep all 7 picks we have left.

Tre Jackson, Mike Davis and D'Andre Smelter or McBride works for me.

I wish I could be there opening night, anyone got some extra tickets ?

No. I was one of those mocking people who claimed Brady was in decline. And Tom Brady sure does cover him some ills.

Man, the Diaper Kipers are out in FORCE this year at Patsfans....somebody make a thousand calls and e-mails to Jonathan Kraft and inform him that the Caserio/Belichick personnel evaluations can officially be torched...the Diaper Kipers have got your back now,Jonathan and you BETTER listen to what they have to say or else!!

OK then, I wish for continued "ills" for several more seasons to come.

No offensive picks yet, thinking we will go O-line tomorrow once or twice.

I think it is a big mistake going all defense. We could use another playmaker and a passblocker for Brady. PM me

Dang. I've been gone for a while, but there's way to much venom amongst fans of THE GREATEST FRANCHISE IN HISTORY in this forum. You guys do realize how blessed you are, right?

Just got confirmed for my account, long time lurker.... Ok anyways, the amount of butthurt crybabies in this forum makes me so sick. "Drafted a 5th rounder in the 2nd round" says who? Some jerkoff draftnik who could never get a job as a real scout for a team so he cries of a team doesn't follow his rankings? I'm pretty sure our scouting department knows a lot more about these guys than all of you do. If I didn't know better I would say this a colts board from some of the reactions here. Grow some friggen balls and quit complaining because things don't go your way or follow your personal predictions

Best coach, no doubt. Best GM ? Last season was a great off season for BB the GM. This offseason ? Bad FA and sub par draft so far. Lots of sub par drafts the last 10 years.

From 2001-2011 the linked article below grades them as best in the league and from 2012-2014 they have picked up major assets such as Chandler Jones, D. Hightower, Jamie Collins, Logan Ryan, Easley, Stork and Garoppolo.
http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/content/decade-the-making-the-ultimate-nfl-draft-grades/2419/

This draft we have gotten a projected 15-20 1st round pick at 32 with Malcom Brown.

Every team has subpar picks and each draft is a crap shoot but BB has had a top ten, if not better, record with drafting since he has been here.

So I respectfully disagree with the sub par grade.

EDITED: I forgot to mention the Scott Chandler signing. That was huge!

I understand it's human nature to go on what we can see. We see pre-draft rankings and use it because it's all we know. But what do those rankings prove? Go back and look at the last 10 drafts and count up all the "steals" that ended up being terrible picks. It happens every year.

I don't pretend to love the day 2 picks because I don't know enough about them, along with 2/3s of the players taken today. If we had drafted guys that were once mocked to us on day 2, I'm sure I'd be happy. It doesn't mean it will work out. No picks from the first 3 rounds under Belichick have come close to making me as happy as us landing Maroney, Chad Jackson and David Thomas. Cloud 9. And it was a disaster.

So what if somehow in the first and second picks the Pats have in the 4th they take TJ Clemmings and Tre Jackson?

Would people still complain about OL?
