Grigson truly is a ******. That WR corps is going to be potent, no doubt. But Luck needs time to throw the ball and the Colts still cannot stop the run. They can still get Goldman but it would likely take a trade up for that to happen.

Lets see how many passes Luck completes while he's running for his life. :)

The Bills and Jets are playoff-level teams, if they can get the QB play (Jets) and QB/OL play (Bills)

They're all playoff level teams, IMO. Dolphins are going to very good. Tannehill flew under the radar last year..27 TDs, 12 INTs, 66.4% completion, 4k yards. Their passing attack now has Parker, Stills, Landry, Jennings, and Cameron. That's pretty damn good. Their defense was also pretty good last year and they added one of the best defenders in the NFL.

Edit-

I don't see the Bills/Jets having a huge problem at QB. Fitz/Cassell are good enough to manage games if they have the right pieces in place, which they do.

One of the first round's small ironies: Shane Ray goes to a team in a state where ganja is legal.

Miami has too many changing parts, and too many questions about that OL, for me place them right now. I want to see them once they are a bit more fleshed out.

Ugh, it sickened me to think about it, but if you replaced Geno Smith with Tom Brady, that would be a good f***ing team.

If you want to feel worse, take out the QBs and then compare the starting personnel of all 3 teams.

It's a very good point and the talent in the AFCE is pretty good this year. It's too bad for them how important QB play is.

The Colts did the Patriots a kindness late Thursday night, inexplicably passing on Texas defensive tackle Malcom Brown and ignoring their futility against the run to add another wide receiver, Miami's Phillip Dorsett.

That's one favor, redeemable whenever. Maybe even on October 18 in Indianapolis, when the Colts host the Pats for Sunday Night Football.

Really, after being shredded for 423 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in two games against New England a year ago, it would seem obvious that Indy would bolster the middle of its defense. But instead....wide receiver.

[......] All things considered, the first round couldn't have worked out any better for New England. Last week, I listed Brown as one of the players the Patriots could target if they traded up into the mid-20s. He was a great value at No. 32.

I hope i'm not the only one that sees the irony in Denver picking Shane Ray.

Elway thinking to himself last night: "Well he can't get busted for weed here"

Nope, only Brian Williams is held accountable. ****ing hilarious how the media acts like he has to own up when none of those scumbags do. Not a ****ing one.

I wouldn't hold sports reporters' tweets to the level of the Evening News, where credibility is a lot more important. Rolling Stone is deservedly getting hammered, The Duke lacrosse fabrication, the Videotaping Rams walkthrough fabrication...when it's important, they are held responsible. For someone tweeting out something that they heard? Who cares? It's not like anyone could check with the source.

The MEDIA HOLD EVERYONE ACCOUNTABLE when they F..k up.
The more popular the individual is the more they beat them down.
The MEDIA should be held to the same standard that they set for everyone else. She messed up and she should take heat. The other guy should too.
Agree but some of them tweets are very harsh. and then the person tweets this

Collecting talent is not the same as building a team.

When you draft high consistently, yet don't have money tied up in quality players you can spend like a drunken sailor and look better, at least on paper.

Done. I don't feel that bad--might be the homer in me talking.

It's obviously early, and things can certainly change between now and the start of the season, but

Jets - better at RB, OL, WR, DL, DB
Bills - better at RB, WR, DL

Patriots are better than both at TE and LB, and both the Bills and Pats have real questions about the OLs and DBs. That's it. Take away the QB, and the Jets have the best starters, with the Bills v. Pats at least being arguable, but likely advantage: Bills.

I don't disagree. I only meant in that in the sense that whatever edge the Jets/Bills may have at other positions, I don't see it as being wide enough in either case to offset the Grand Canyon-sized advantage the Pats have at QB/HC.

Luckily we have lots of capital remaining in this draft. If we can keep things going after a promising first round I think we can shift the balances on some of the closer position groups (e.g. finding a starter at LG would make our OL look a lot better than it currently does).

The Jets still haven't figured out how to take out the quarterback, though. That would be a tough one even for their ex employee booster in chief.

Well, sure. QB is the difference between the Patriots and the rest of the AFCE. But, right now, he's really the only reason to put the Patriots above the Jets and Bills. Outside of Brady, there's no real personnel advantage.

That hasn't been the case for most of the BB/Brady era.

The Jets have been able to play the Patriots tough with the likes of Geno Smith and Mark Sanchez at QB, and they've limited Brady significantly in numerous games. So, we look at that and say "Yeah, but that was with Rex there, and Bowles may not be able to do that". That's when we look down the AFCE list and see the Buffalo Bills...

The Patriots usually have a better team by the playoffs. that counts for a lot.

oh ffs no-one here except for trolls, chicken-littles and contrarians care about the jests or jills and their rosters.
