Right. I get that Wilkerson is on the last year of his contract and is unhappy, but he'll be in camp and on the field week one, and they have the money to pay him next year if they wanted to. He's the best 3-4 DE in the business, after all. Arguably (and I would argue yes) the best player in the draft fell into their lap, and they took him. Okay. But that team is so devoid of talent literally everywhere but defensive line and (now) cornerback that I can't, as objective as I can be with the Jets, christen this a good pick - even while I absolutely think Williams is the best player in the draft.

I think Wilkerson is gone. After they paid top dollar to Revis. I don't think they can pay Wilkerson. He is going to want and probably get the second most money for a DT after Suh. And then the Jets have to pay Sheldon Richardson too. The quest for Revis probably took Wilkerson out of the Jets' future plans.

I'm with people on the Colts drafting Dorsett, true headscratcher. And the whole BPA thing, sure it makes sense in many respects but would he draft a QB at #29 if the BPA were a QB? No, you assess both overall talent/value and team need, especially when you're talking about a skill position that has little turnover and few injuries.

And that's why I'll never pan the Jets pick; they went BPA as well, filled a position of strength as well, but on the D-line there's far more turnover, more injuries, Wilkerson may be gone after this year or even traded for help on the offensive side of the ball. If they had a QB that pick would scare me, because it ensure's their line will be dominant for the foreseeable future and gives them options that may allow them to add talent on O without sacrificing much (if any) defense.

The J E T S made a nice pick.

The Patriots made a nice pick.

On to round 2.

So basically what Grigson is saying is "he's really fast, so I mean, I couldn't not draft him!"

Well, I think that's now a certainty.

Grigson truly is a ******. That WR corps is going to be potent, no doubt. But Luck needs time to throw the ball and the Colts still cannot stop the run. They can still get Goldman but it would likely take a trade up for that to happen.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Bill Polian used to build the Colts around Manning and Grigson is doing the same with Luck. The Colts apparently will always be content to try to win games with scores like 40-39. But at least Polian made sure Manning had an o-line... At least until his last few years.

How awesome is it that history repeated itself?

Manning
Harrison
Wayne
Stokley
Clark
+
soft defense

Luck
Hilton
Johnson
Dorsett
Moncrief
Fleener
+
soft defense
--------------------------------

Finesse, fantasy football type offense that will continue to get punched in the mouth when it matters - check
Soft defense that will continue to get punched in the mouth - check
Overrated QB that pads regular season stats and blows in the playoffs - check

Too bad Luck seems like a decent guy and isn't a tool like Manning. Then the comparison would be perfect.

Agreed, I actually really like Luck as a QB and a guy. I don't think he's the "Second Coming" like ESPN seems so desperate to anoint him, but I don't think he ever wanted to be either. Just seems like a guy who loves football and works hard. Too bad he got drafted into that **** show. Would've been cool for him to have gone somewhere like Jacksonville or Oakland and really elevate a franchise.

Tired of losing 45-7?

Try to make it 52-28!

Why is SMY getting killed so badly? A deal might've been in place, and she should've put out that caveat, but LaCanfora reported we traded up, and I don't see anybody asking for his head. Do people understand how many wrong things were tweeted last night?

Coming on the heels of the Aaron Dobson piece ... she's slipped a bit.

The MEDIA HOLD EVERYONE ACCOUNTABLE when they F..k up.
The more popular the individual is the more they beat them down.
The MEDIA should be held to the same standard that they set for everyone else. She messed up and she should take heat. The other guy should too.

Nope, only Brian Williams is held accountable. ****ing hilarious how the media acts like he has to own up when none of those scumbags do. Not a ****ing one.

But the media isn't held accountable for anything, especially not on twitter. I don't know if signaling out one person is worth it.

I said it once and I'll say it again: The days of the AFC East being inept are over. Every team looks really good. Gonna be very interesting this year. I think 10-11 games wins it.

The Bills and Jets are playoff-level teams, if they can get the QB play (Jets) and QB/OL play (Bills)
