Welcome to the team Malcolm.

I fell asleep last night and missed who we took - happy with that though. I was talking about Brown going in the teens last night to a friend, so it's quite a steal.

It was a loooong night. Managed to stay awake, just. But not sure how I'll fare tonight.

For Brown to drop to 32 was a miracle. He is one of the few players I would have been prepared to trade up for in this draft class, and he turns the loss of Wilfork into just another offseason footnote. Our front 7 will be far stronger, deeper and more explosive in 2015 than it was during the Super Bowl. Who woulda thunk it?

The talent gap between Danny Shelton (#12 to Cleveland) and Malcom Brown (#32 to NE) is minuscule. It is a toss up which of the two will become a better pro.

I cant believe so many teams that need help at DT passed on him to draft skill player bling. Indy, especially. ROFL, there's a prime example of the BPA philosophy going all wrong. And what were the Raven's thinking to pass on him at 26 after losing Haloti Ngata? I was sure they'd steal Brown away and fish for WR in the 2nd. Not that either team is likely to be disappointed with Dorsett or Perriman, respectively. But in terms of pure opportunity cost, they spent a lot to draft those guys.

It goes to show how that position has been devalued in the league. Teams want interior guys early only if they can pressure the QB. I loved Brown but figured he was long gone at 32 and believe that although he's never going to get double digit sacks that he can penetrate and push the pocket. .

Real good pick. I'm shocked he last to #32.

Not sure if he is another Vince, but I really like the pick.. we continue to get younger, more athletic and faster... from what I read he was a steal at #32.

Other than being a starter for a SB champion you mean?
So was Antoine Smith, so I guess acquiring Corey Dillon made no sense? The guard position on this team needs to be upgraded for both the present and the future. Hopefully whoever they draft today and tomorrow are plug-and-play, because an undersized center conversion and ????? are not a good duo.

Strikes me as very athletic and has excellent quickness for a guy his size. I've felt that the team needed to get quicker and faster up front- and they did.

A penetrating, powerful 320lb monster...I love it!

anyway it really looks a 2004 similar situation...

incredible...

Yep. Time will tell how good both players become.

While they aren't Brown, Shelton or Williams, Phillips, Goldman and Davis are still on the board. However, Indy needs impact players up-front DESPERATELY.

Ravens needed WRs bad. Steve Smith is 87 years old and the rest are very average. BAL have decent DTs on the roster- especially Brandon Williams. They say Ngata slipped last year. Not sure about that.

I like the pick a lot, but i wasn't around for his selection. I went to bed when i read the pats traded down. Draft coverage isn't what it used to be.

DT - Easley & Brown
LB - Hightower & Collins

It's difficult not to get excited thinking what those 4 may be able to do on a field together with solid veterans around them.

Must be how they done spell Patriots in Maine. :p
I wonder

if I can get my money back?

It was late, and I was younger last night than I am today.

Don't know much about the player outside of highlight videos, but I'm glad we invested in another DL in the first round. Everything starts up front. I hated watching the Ravens run all over our defense.

What does going from an average back to one of the best backs in the game have to do with upgrading at Guard thru the draft. A similar move would be a trade for Mathis.

If Brown can contribute and Easley is 100% healthy I am loving this line

1-2 more cover guys in the secondary, 1-2 more Bryan Storks that play G, maybe a LB, WR and RB with potential and this team is rolling..

Easley is only 260?! What's happening to him? He's losing weight by the day!

Wow. Maybe he needed to lose 20lbs b/c of his knees?
