Sounds like the Pats are trading out of the 1st round

The Pats are trading out of the 1st round with a team that will give them a better 1st round choice in 2016. They will load up mid-round selections throw it against a wall and see what sticks.

Don't buy any of the mock draft selections with the 32nd pick. Trade is too enticing

It took me WAY too many years to figure out- but I finally realized there's no point to me watching the draft. Here is what will happen:

1. The Pats will trade out of the 1st round. I will wonder why I wasted an hour or two of my life just to hear Jets fans boo everytime they say Patriots before trade... My wife will ask multiple times who they took, pretending not to be irritated I took over the television for no reason at all.
2. The Pats will continue trading down in second round. The message boards, myself included, will melt down because our binkies will be taken by teams like the Ravens and Jets. (Down the road, of course, we'll win AFCCGs without them and BB will be voted best GM. Statistically he receives this honor the year I am unhappiest at draft time.)
3. The Pats will then pick multiple players I've never heard of in rounds significantly earlier than said players draft grades are thought to be. I'll Google them and they'll look great and have personalities that make me think they sound like true Patriots. I'll then log back on here and complain about BBs draft reaches anyway. If they're DBs I'll be right, but it won't matter because we'll still win Superbowls. TB12/BB/Kraft are awesome.
4. I'll then watch the next 2 days of the draft where every team takes players I've never heard of, because I don't even like college football that much. It won't stop me from having an uninformed or incorrect opinion about them, and I'll continue defending my viewpoint that BB "reaches" too much. I'll be more sure of myself the more evidence there is to the contrary because I have no business even having an opinion about college players. (Seriously, check my post history. I do this every year and should be embarrassed.)

I'm going to save all that trouble this year and not post anymore about the draft nor watch the thing. I'll Google the players we take each evening and continue not having any thoughts about it until I see them play in the next year or two. Because d%#*!@t, this year I'm older and wiser. You're welcome for saving you the BS I usually spew.

Awesome. The most insightful post I've seen in a while.

I can honestly say I haven't heard of a single player other than Winston and Mariotta, so draft time is missed binky free, reach free and, most importantly, stress free. :)

Oh, and I get the side benefit of lots of new presents under the NFL tree to unwrap over the next few weeks!

Unless the Pats have a minimum of two first rounders in a draft, I won't invest any of my valuable time (Netflix/HBO/Skinimax.......................................and family) to learn anything about this draft....therefore......I secretly hope BB trades as many picks as possible for future year opportunities. Studs make good teams great.....so lets get NE in position to double or triple down on studs in the future.

One of these years I also have to learn not to be dissapointed, I mean I love my binkies, how come BB does not see the same great qualities that I do.

It's comforting to know that if the Patriots were docked ALL of their draft picks that they would still field a competitive team, if not still be favorites in the AFC. At least for a year.

Look at all the teams who need to draft perfectly just to get to a winning record.

The draft is always interesting to me even with the pats trading out. You always have the opportunity to see what kind of **** the jets, browns, lolphins and raiders are going to do.

I'm guessing sometime between 11--11:30. That's usually the sweet spot for the last few picks.

You've done a great injustice to uncle rico with this post!

LMAO.

OMG MY SIDES, straight up hurt from laughing.

Took me a second to figure out what you meant -- I don't even know how or when I "Disliked" that post. Must have been the Scotch talking. I've removed the rating. Sorry Supa!

anything you hear today as with everything you've heard over the past few weeks should be taken very lightly. The Pats don't have their mind made up either way and probably won't until BB stops taking calls and makes the pick.

Hehe I do it a lot when using my galaxy s5, they're all so close together it's easy to fat finger

BB and Thompson want more ammo to manipulate the draft while the Jags attempt to land high quality players at few positions with no depth or support.

I don't understand why the draft champions are not emulated by more franchises. SEA has been outstanding recently but with Carroll's 1st hand college scouting well tapped out we'll start to see how truly good they are at evaluating.

The biggest reason I want to stay in the first is for those 5th year options. When you hit on a pick that price tag is a bargain in most cases.

Great post. I have many of the same feelings, though I never criticize a pick. In fact, the more unheard of the guy is, the more fun it is finding out who in hell he is and why Kiper hates the pick so much.

Definitely more fun if there are Pats trades, I only recall 1 draft in recent years where they stayed home on all their picks. But a little frustrating if it's to a later round that's now on a different night.

Expect the unexpected, eg it wouldn't surprise me if they move up to the mid-20's tonight by giving up our late 3rd rounder when we have a comp pick right after. That UConn CB is intriguing.

Of all the things Belichick has accomplished, leaving Kiper pretty much speechless with the Mankins pick is one of the most amazing.

Easy to do when you're a dirty rotten cheater.

By the way, the interview was comic, in the sense that the Jaguars guy cited Frank Lloyd Wright. He wrote that Wright was asked which of his skyscrapers was his favorite (the Jags guy claimed that Wright had designed many), and the Jags guy said Wright always quipped, "The next one."

The funny thing is, there is only one Wright skyscraper in existence.

There was never a next one.
