After thinking about all the different options that Pats might do. I can't help but think that BB bucks the trend and acquires other players from teams that are trying to get picks.

I've started a list of potential guys who have been mentioned recently..

Can you think of anymore?

And do any of these interest you?

Cameron Jordan - DE Saints
Fletcher Cox - DE Eagles
Mychal Kendricks - LB Eagles
James Ihedigbo - S Lions
Mo Wilkerson - DE Jets
D. J. Swearinger - SS Texans
Michael Brockers - Rams

We could even add one of our own..

Alfonzo Dennard CB Patriots

With Mayo's restructure, we have over 10m in cap space. I'd love to trade for Mathis and sign Colin McCarthy. I seriously doubt guys like; Wilkerson, Fletcher Cox and Cam Jordan get dealt.

Wouldn't be shocked to see Jonas Gray traded if BB really has him in the bowels of a dungeon known as his dog house.
I wouldn't be shocked to see him go for a late 5th or 6th to a team like Dallas Minnesota Tampa Bay.

I love Dennard but we have no idea what the team has planned for him.
A 5th in a trade is possible if BB has moved on.
Michael OO could possibly be traded for a 6th or 7th if there is a player there the Patriots want a crack at and he rates better to a team than the available leftover tightends.
Again could

Martellus Bennett (Bears TE), according to Schefter. I'm glad the Seahawks already filled their starting TE spot with a guy who doesn't block, otherwise adding another Bennett would've made a lot of sense.

Chris Long DE, Rams (big contract)

A very good fit here (renegotiate?) and on other teams.

Dobson and/or Dennard... Perhaps traded in attempt to move up in 1st or 2nd round

(Just my own thoughts. Not actual sources or rumors.)

Aaron makes no sense to move because he wouldn't fetch enough value. He'd only be dealt at the end of camp when it's clear the team is moving on from him one way or another.

I suspect neither happens and he sticks for 2015.

I dont really have any interest in any of those guys, maybe Kendricks but otherwise pass.

Hypothetical

Eagles offer us Cox and Kendricks for #32 do we take that?

I would but I don't see them offering that for just #32. They are reportedly looking for a 2nd for Kendricks and I would think Cox would demand at least that much if not more. I think those two are good pieces for them to move up for Mariota.

No! Why on earth would you trade for 2 players who needs a big contract in less then a year.... Solder, Jones, Collins and Hightower gonna need a contract also.

I didn't realize the contract situation for both. I agree, the money just doesn't work on the Pats end

I'd be very interested in bringing in Swearinger. His physical presence back there would compliment McCourty's range and ball skills very well and he's not the liability in deep coverage that Chung is.

I could see the Pats moving Dennard, I don't think Dobson would fetch anything.

Vernon Davis is available, but that is a huge contract. But he would be Gronk insurance and double trouble if they could both be on the field at the same time. Very unlikely with Chandler here now.

It would be nice to get Mathis and maybe even Brandon Boykin from the Iggles

I would move our 3rd (and Dennard? Dobson?) for Brockers in a heartbeat. He's got 2 years on a cap-friendly rookie deal and immediately solves the need at defensive tackle.
