Draft Nuggets and Rumours.

"7. … I think there’s one exception. New England likes USC wide receiver Nelson Agholor. If I were Bill Belichick, I wouldn’t be getting cute late in the first round, particularly with three picks between 96 and 101. I’d take the guy I’d like. Even if I could get an attractive first-round picks next year for the 32nd pick, I’d still take a receiver Agholor now if I could. (But I do think he’ll be gone before 32.)"

This is complete nonsense. I was going to mention something along the lines of, whoever wrote that lost a lot of credibility, but then I saw it was by King so....

There is no way that NE passes on a future first rounder that couldn't possibly be any lower and likely comes with a 4th+ kicker for a WR. It won't happen. Hell, I'll be gobsmacked if they select a WR in the first round, period, let alone passing on that kind of trade opportunity.

Regardless of whether or not I agree with the particular player, King's position is a very sensible one, if he's right about the Patriots' interest.

Agree, there has been debate on whether he even gets drafted in the first round now with his latest incident.

Forget about the weed misdemeanor citation ... there are serious concerns about whether or not Ray can play at this level. Ray had a 7.6 - 3 cone drill at his Pro Day and that's some tight hips and lacking change of direction.

I don't think it's fair for people to comment on Rays foot injury (not you) and then criticise his 3cone.

I can't imagine why anyone would dislike this post, lol. "How dare you share what you've heard about Shane Ray!!!"

Mayock now has the Pats grabbing Randy Gregory with #32 in his only mock of the year...interesting.

I agree, Gregory has been so far up the chart I didn't spend much time on him but taking him if he falls is an interesting consideration, especially given the way that guys like Erving, Jones and others have risen and their likely availability has diminished. I would still take Erving and Jones ahead of him but I'm not sure how many others given his upside and the dearth of top end talent with a first.

Of the draft falls the way it looks like it's going to. in the first them there will only be 4-5 guys I would be happy with and some will already be gone. I want an impact player and would definitely take the player over the position. In other words I would draft a RB or WR in the first of they were the best players left and worth the first. I would rather they took Erving or Jones but I would still be OK with Agholor or Gordon. Take the player who will become great, don't force a position, they can be dealt with other ways.

There's a whole lot of stupid going on, when it comes to the use/abuse of the 'dislike' button.

Ignoring whether they fit, or even how good they are, it would have been quite a statement two weeks ago to consider that La'el Collins, Shane Ray and Randy Gregory could all be in play at 32.

That was a my bad. I accidentally hit the dislike button while i was searching thru my phone.

Apologies to Ashley.

That's actually really easy to do. Thankfully I always catch it but I empathise.

Yea I'm always browsing the site either on my phone or tablet. Im hoping that was one of the only times I've done that, but thankfully I caught it. Again apologies. There was nothing to dislike about that post...

Back to the draft. Gregory at 32, I dunno how I feel about that. There's rumors starting to come out that his sudden fall on the draft is more then just weed, plus he's what 6'5 235lbs? Way to small to play DE, can he transition to OLB? A lot of question marks on this kid.

He'd be a linebacker for us. I think his character is clearly an issue. One thought I've had is that if BB is planning to draft Ameer Abdullah then Gregory might be a safer pick with a mature teammate and Nebraska captain also coming in as a rookie.

I was listening to Daniel Jeremiah's latest podcast in which he and Ian Rapoport ran through the first round and what they were hearing.

Bengals - Another interesting one. Jake Fisher or Cedric Ogbuehi. Tony Pauline also named these two for the Bengals.

Since this report from Daniel Jeremiah, both Mike Manock and Bob Mcginn have Ogbuehi going in the first round. Looks like that is happening.

he's got some mental stamina issues as well. too many red flags.

and plenty of talent. He probably has too many red flags, it's just something that wouldn't surprise me. And his 6.8 3cone is really interesting. May be not in the first, maybe not ever but, maybe, just maybe.

Schefter on Mike and Mike

"A bunch of teams will try to make a play for Marcus Mariota"

"Some teams tell me La'el Collins will not get drafted"

From listening to Schefter it seems there are teams involved in the Mariota sweepstakes that we haven't really heard a lot about. Cleveland and Philly are the obvious ones, maybe the Jets? Who else could be involved?

San Diego is not one of them and Rivers is going nowhere.
