The NFL is Now ACTIVELY Trolling the New England Patriots

No.

This was a frame up that took over the 2 weeks lead up to the Super Bowl. We had to endure Michaels and Collinsworth opining about it during the game winning drive.

I want justice.

I was genuinely sickened by the coverage of that game.. they waited until the 4th quarter of the super bowl during 2 Patriot drives to start talking about deflategate..

It really does make you sick to your stomach. Thank god the Pats won, because it would have been unbearable with the piling on after a loss

It could also just simply be total ******** from Mehta as an extra FU to the Pats, since he can just say that he can't reveal his source.
I wish there was a rule in journalism where if you cannot explicitly name the source, you are not allowed to use the quote. Enough of this "league/unnamed/anonymous" BS. I don't care if we miss out on "juicy" information once in a while, you can't back it up then guess what, you can't use it.

That quote most likely came from a Jets fanboy who works for the league. Nobody of any relevance to us.

I have no doubt that is precisely what is going to happen. :(
Hatersgonhate... If they're found guilty "STILL CAN'T WIN WITHOUT CHEATING, ****"etc. If they're exonerated "GOODELL SWEEPING IT UNDER THE RUG LIKE SPYGATE, GOODELL AND KRAFT ARE BUTT BUDDIES" etc.

No matter the outcome they'll spin it to suit their arguments, which makes their opinions irrelevant.

The TEAM BUILDER which is Bill Belichick should never be questioned though, and I sincerely mean that. There are going to be hits and misses, and we've been lucky enough to have seen many more hits than misses. Anyone that has a problem with Belichick's drafting needs to have their heads examined, since he's proven himself time and time again.

FIFY.

BB's ability to find the pieces (Talib a couple of years ago - Casillas, Ayers and Branch last year) to fit in and press on is amazing.

He drafts pretty well, too - but if the Pats had to rely just on the draft, they'd be screwed, because they're never getting a high pick!

Not when we have objective scientific proof supporting our case. There will still be ******s but they won't have a leg to stand on.

Exactly this!

I'm just hoping that they come out and unequivocally state that the Patriots did nothing wrong... but for some reason I just have this sinking feeling that Roger GoToHell is just going to phrase it in a way where people can just slam us endlessly about it..

something along the lines of suggesting that they couldn't find "sufficient" evidence of tampering would be enough for the mediots and haters to run wild

What would that accomplish? Anyone who lives (or has traveled) outside of the 6 states of NE knows that what you are hoping for will in no way clear the Patriots name. People will just say, "Oh Goodell is just protecting his good buddy Kraft".

The report has to explain WHY Deflategate ridiculously turned into the #1 news story for 3 weeks this past winter.

Forces were at work to make that so. Those people should not get away with that. You may want that to happen, but I don't.

A "never mind" verdict will mean the smear lives forever - - and that those who actively did the smearing get to do it over again.

Exactly - - when the league, which is responsible for adjudication and discipline, publicly TROLLS the team that it is judging, then there is an unacceptable situation.

How about if, during AH's trial, the judge cracked jokes about Hernandez' home security system to the Boston Globe?
True, but I keep raising the point that the NFL is not a court of law, it's a business. It can be as arbitrary and capricious as it wants to be. They are only accountable to the consumer and as long as the money is rolling in, they couldn't care less about any notions of fundamental fairness or integrity despite what they may say in public.

You can scream until you're blue in the face about justice and sportsmanship and complain all you want about their pandering to the lowest common denominator, they don't care. You're speaking a language they don't understand and they will only become confused if they try to understand you. They are spiritually and mentally sick individuals who only understand (1) money and (2) getting their way. To them, nothing else matters AT ALL.

So keep silent and meekly follow.

Funny, did you say the same thing during the Rice case? Public opinion counts.

What will it take for people to stop posting things like this? Mike Kensil was all ready to wrap up a sham of an investigation and slam the Pats within 3 days of the initial reports when someone, very likely Kraft, demanded that Wells get called in. From there on out the investigation was taken out of the NFL's hands. Wells may be billing the NFL but he does not work for them nor is the NFL his client to defend. He was hired to investigate the allegations of deflated footballs and to follow the trail wherever it may lead. Wells is well aware of how important reputation is with huge prestigious firms such as his and would never compromise it by knowingly doing a slipshod job. Again, the NFL is NOT his client like in a court of law. He has no obligation to defend them if they are culpable of wrongdoing.
Who hired Wells? the NFL
Who is paying Wells? The NFL
The NFL is his client and as an attorney, his canon of ethics require him to "zealously represent his client"
and that should tell you everything you need to know if you think it is going to come back on the NFL itself..Call my cynical or jaded but in light of the sham of tampergate, does anybody really think the league will look bad in the report? Maybe in a private addendum that will never see the light of day...-------------

Note the verbiage from the Dolphin's bullying report.
"The NFL retained Theodore V. Wells, Jr., a partner in the law firm of
Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, to “direct an independent investigation into issues of workplace conduct at the Miami Dolphins and prepare a report for the
Commissioner, which would be made public.”"
You retain a lawyer when you are a client......

No explanation needed, we already know why. If someone finds out a member of the Patriots organization changes lanes without signalling, draft picks docked, fined, whole world is outraged! Goddamn cheaters won't stop breaking the rules! Stupid cheaters! Stop taking away my Superbowl wins. It was mine! It was supposed to be mine! We were supposed to start a dynasty! You took that away from us! There's no way you could beat us! We had all names! You had a bunch of nobodies! You freaking cheaters! Stop ruining my life. My wife left me because you! My kids hate me because of you! I have no friends because of you! I hate you freaking Patriots! Stop cheating! Everything that has gone wrong in my life is your fault! I'm too emotionally stupid to direct my anger at the correct people so I'll just blame everything on you. You stupid freaking cheating Patriots! I hate you!:(

That about sums it up I think? :)

Well, we can all stop watching the NFL, but that's not gonna happen. You know it; they know it.

The Rice case? That's a different dynamic. Lots of men are dedicated consumer's of the NFL's product. Most women are just casual fans who wear the jerseys and look up from their cellphones once in while to watch the game when something exciting happens. NFL wants more women to watch (or keep watching) so when a domestic violence issue rears it ugly head and the feminnazis start chirping; the league responds.

Pats fans? They're not going anyway regardless of how much the league sh*ts on the team. In fact, the more the league sh*ts on them, the more it galvanizes their fanbase to rally behind them.

Is it right? Hell No! But this is how they think.

Not for US, Wheelman, but for the rest of the world.

WE know. But I want Wells to report to the nation the truth. Doesn't mean I expect it to happen, but the truth should be demanded.

Doesn't mean we have to shut up and meekly shuffle our feet. It doesn't hurt to make one's voice heard.

If you want to forfeit, good for you. But I'm not in the "We'll lose anyhow, so why represent?" camp.

They're baiting BB to say one word, then throw the book at him.

The NFL is a total ****ing joke.

It's interesting that you say that, because I've had this weird feeling that it's almost like they're trying to instigate or provoke a response from the Patriots with all this BS so they can embarassed them further

I thought it might just be my paranoia, but it's comforting to know other people have similar feelings!

I hear ya Shmessy but you probably also know they won't listen to reason. It's a hopeless cause.

If it came down to it, I think I could stop watching football. During the replacement ref fiasco, I tuned out and went fishing on Sundays instead. I was probably better off for it.
Maybe if the Wells report sufficiently insults my intelligence, I'll dust off my fishing pole and tell the NFL to kiss my ass!
