Gotta love what the dude has to say here.

FOXBORO -- In his first meeting with reporters since restructuring his contract last month, Danny Amendola said he values being a member of the Patriots and that he wanted to do whatever it took to stay in New England.

"I love playing for this team," he said on Tuesday. "I love playing for these coaches, this organization. I got family out here, this is home to me. I love playing for this team. It's a great experience and I'd like to prolong that for as long as I can. It's been fun."

His production hasn't been to Edelman's standard but he's held on to ****ing crucial throws and the salary reduction was a great way for him to stay here. I'm hoping for his best season yet next year.

Completely agree. I judge FAs on "did you help". In ANY case of a player having helped reach a championship : good signing. As you state : crucial catches were made.

Further : his $ is now plenty reasonable, he chips in on STs without grumbling, by all accounts (including BB saying no one works harder) he works hard... Edelman missing games is not something I want to face - but DA would fill in well if needed.

I've always had value for Amendola on this team, and this just makes it better.

i trust his ability. just need to stay healthy. that's all.

Of course it's home. Has family in the area. Was a factor in winning a SB and his woman (my avi) works for Curran's show.

Good player, solid guy, and great value now for a #3 WR that could replace 80% of Jules in case of injury. And he stepped up in the play-offs, which is what you want.

He stood up and took every criticism (and there were thousands), never made excuses, just worked extra hard to find a role on this team. He made some huge plays for us in the play-offs to help us win a Super Bowl.

He wants to be here. And I'm glad he is.

He made crucial catches and stretched for extra yards during that Ravens game. Without him we might have had to watch the Ravens in the super bowl. Hopefully he can build on his post season improvement.

This past post season...he was a stud..made the tough plays and catches...worth it just for that
The moment Amendola strolled into the End Zone after catching the pass from Minitron, I was ready to forgive all bygone sins. He didn't put up huge post-season numbers but he did make some crucial plays that contributed to the Patriots winning the Super Bowl.

I'm the first to admit I lost patience with Amendola during the season. He managed to turn that around during the playoffs. Let's hope he stays injury free as the Patriots mosquito fleet compliment one-another beautifully. Fingers crossed Dobson adds a taller component to the mix this season.

The bigger play during that game for DA came earlier if i remember correctly. He caught a short 2yd out on the left and ran hard to squeeze out the first down on 3rd down. It wss a seemingly small, but huge play.

I'm a little surprised, only because I bet he could get a good contract as a slot receiver somewhere. I'm not surprised he's worked out, because he and edelman are the type of receiver brady destroys other teams with.

Tom can throw the long ball or just about any pass, but he's devastating throwing quick, safe passes to multiple quick receivers and tight ends. Maybe they get a true deep threat and maybe they don't, but wasn't it apparent late season that brady went back to the 2001 Brady, the Deion branch Brady, the type of offense that simply can't be stopped.

No one can, or has ever been able to, hit quick receivers right on time, with safe accurate and sudden passes that neutralize the rush and leave defenses with nothing to do but limit yardage, while they get chain moved the length of the field over and over.

I agree, but I prefer to call it the "Troy Brown Brady."

Good for amendola...he had a good season & won a SB & made some big, important plays at nut cuttin time...
Plus I've always rooted for guys the media dislikes/piles on & DA is a prime example...

He won the Jets game for us spectacular catch No Jets win No one seed

I bad mouth him for most of his time with the Pats as overpaid and under production. I wanted him gone. As last season started I felt the same but as success came to him I changed my thoughts about him. He has done the right thing renegotiating his contract and became a family member of the Pats. My hats off to him.

And some clutch returns. And I believe the Pats still would have been the 1 seed even with a loss ther. They had the tie breaker over Denver.
