D'ya still think there is an even playing field for the New England Patriots in Goodell's NFL?

OK, THIS is just the NFL publicly giving New England the middle finger:

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...ource=twitter.com&utm_campaign=mmehta+twitter

"The Jets shouldn't be too deflated over the decision," a league source said. "It won't change the positive air around the team."

How can anyone claim this is not a crooked playing field?

.

We will get the last laugh when the Wells report comes out revealing the Pats innocence and a conspiracy between the Colts and the NFL to damage the Pats.

I actually would guess that Mehta is lying about that quote. Doesn't mean that his league source didn't say it, but I'd put my money on Mehta just being a troll and an unprofessional hack.

Wouldn't surprise me if Manish made up that quote.

You really think an NFL hired and paid for investigator will release a report condemning the NFL...let's just say I have a different take on how the NFL works.

If Goodell doesn't resign as commissioner and actually shows up for the NFL opening day at Foxboro next season, can we please make it "free rotting fruits and vegetables" day for all those in attendance.

That's unreal. I know league source is somewhat ambiguous, but unless that's directly from a Jets employee, the NFL has a serious problem with biases.

We already got the last laugh. We won the Super Bowl in historic fashion.

And let's not forget that Revis will retire with only one Super Bowl ring to his career and it will be with the Pats. The total irony that could only happen to a Jets' fan. The team's best player of all time and he will only win a Super Bowl the one year he played for their hated division rivals.

And I wouldn't doubt this quote is real. There are a lot of people in the League office who hate the Pats. I don't know if they will be laughing so loud if the Wells report comes down hard on the front office.

What will it take for people to stop posting things like this? Mike Kensil was all ready to wrap up a sham of an investigation and slam the Pats within 3 days of the initial reports when someone, very likely Kraft, demanded that Wells get called in. From there on out the investigation was taken out of the NFL's hands. Wells may be billing the NFL but he does not work for them nor is the NFL his client to defend. He was hired to investigate the allegations of deflated footballs and to follow the trail wherever it may lead. Wells is well aware of how important reputation is with huge prestigious firms such as his and would never compromise it by knowingly doing a slipshod job. Again, the NFL is NOT his client like in a court of law. He has no obligation to defend them if they are culpable of wrongdoing.

They are right, it usually takes an actual game to poison the air the Jets have. Everything before the season is all bliss!:D

Unfortunately, the League has no choice but to have Wells investigate the League. Too much has come out that puts the League's actions in question from they putting an employee they knew was stealing NFL game day merchandise on the field and in charge of footballs to Grigson admitting that he informed the league a week before the game that he suspected the Pats of deflating balls to leaks from the League where the facts were clearly spun to taint the Pats. There is no way they can release a report without a League fall guy.

That said, we may not get the truth. They might make Kensil or someone else the fall guy and not report all the shady doings for the League on this. I just cannot see a way the league can't take a hit in some way in the Wells Report.

The tone of the media in general has really shifted to maybe the Pats didn't do anything and the League may have set them up. There are still the haters, but even guys like Florio is starting to bang this drum and guys who led the hate like Gregg Doyle are running from this story.

I am with RxJock on this. If the Wells report comes out and makes the NFL or any other team look bad (besides the Patriots) I will be very surprised.
But back to the thread-The actions to the JETs ($100,000 fine) is already an insult the the PAts the comments do not really matter to me.

I am so over this! The NFL league office is corrupted.
I never expect the truth from them. Unfortunately Bob Kraft allows this to exist.

That was the most sansa stark thing anyone here has ever said.

Revis' ring stopped meaning anything to anyone other than himself the day he signed with the Jet. I don't care about him or his current team

This farce that the "league office" meted out just solidifies my belief that the Pats and their fans are not out to get them, because THEY ARE!. There hadn't been a more text book case of tampering in years. It was about a HOF level player and the stakes couldn't have been higher. Yet the league felt comfortable to acknowledge that tampering occurred, yet deemed that an embarrassing small fine be imposed. If Bob Kraft looks at this and doesn't see a GIANT F**K You being thrown at him, then he isn't a tenth as smart as I thought.

Roger Goodell and his minions have told Kraft without any ambiguity that they are out to get them. They also gave fair warning as to what to expect from Welles report. While I doubt very much there will be any consequence from it, there won't be any satisfaction either. The report is sure to be ambiguous enough that NONE of the stain that tarnished the Pats will be wiped clean. Instead there will be another opportunity for the league, its minions at ESPN, and the usual haters to spew even more slander on our team.

When is Bob going to get it. THE LEAGUE want to take the Pats down. Their continuing consistent success is a threat to their mediocrity. The longer the Pats can maintain their run, the more difficult it will be for these less inspired owners to justify their own mediocrity to an increasingly demanding fan base. They aren't Bob Kraft's friends or partners. They are his competitors and HE is the guy they need to knock off.

Every time I see the potential for something good to be happening for the Pats lie this tampering charge or good rumors coming out of the Wells report, I get disappointed and I'm, shown once again that I'm not just another overly sensitive Pats fan. With today's actions the League just told the Pats as well as the other 31 teams they compete against, that their players are open season for any and all of them, regardless of what their contract status is. AND if Kraft doesn't get equally down and dirty they will just allowing them to win.

This is no bright side to this
