The live coverage of the draft s*cks now...

ya they need to make it like a 2 day thing..speed it up please

Every city that has an NFL franchise should have a shot at the draft

And London, we mustn't forget London, because...

NFL milking that cow.

Can someone explain to me why a draft in Chicago is horrible....... but in NYC...awesome? Unless you are attending the event (and hate nice wholesome midwesterners), what about this Chicago INDOOR EVENT is so odious? Is it an indoor architecture preference.... because I can't think of one rational reason why a TV viewer would object to any locale.
Because it is Chicago! NYC is bad but not quite as bad. Ideally the draft and Combine should be someplace warm and fun and not some blighted city.

They used to bring the guys attending the draft to all the NYC must sees, Empire State, Statue of Liberty, et al. I guess they can bring them to the oprah set! or maybe the house that the convicted felon bought Obama.

Chicago does have some great restaurants, maybe Wrigley Field, LOL they should hold the draft in Dikta's, that would be fun!

I'd have it in Vegas, baby!!!!

Of course, I think I've pretty much suggested that everything should be held in Vegas.

I'd ask for members on here to refrain from talking about the pick until it was shown on live tv but I don't think everyone would abide by this.

I got to ask why you ask others to refrain from actions but you choose not to refrain from peeking on PatsFans.com. Asking an entire group to conform to your will because you seem to lack internet self control is quite odd. Do you understand there are alternate solutions to your premature announciation affliction?
:)

Are you worried about the comfort of the teams' phone answerers and the beat reporters? Is the "fun" level of NFL executives a priority to you?

It isn't that I have "no interest" beyond the 3rd round. But watching the TV for 6 straight hours for rounds 4 through 7 generally won't happen either. I check in periodically, especially if I know that the Patriots will be on the clock, so them having an early 4th rounder is great.

I am sure that others who do more research on the draft eligible players can enjoy Saturday's continuous coverage all the way to Mr. Irrelevant, but I find even the analysts run out of things to say about a team's needs by the time they've made 5 or 6 picks.

The first day is just waiting through the first 31 picks to hear that the Patriots are trading out of the first round, right?

They should have the draft two years after a team wins the SB in their city. Example we won 2014 so we get the draft in 2016 then we get it again in 2017.

BB has a history of trading down for more picks. However this year I would not be surprised if he tries to trade up a few spots if there is a player they really want. They have picks 96, 97, & 101. 97 cannot be traded So they could use 96 to go up a few spots.
There is not room for 9 picks on this years team. If they can't trade up, they could trade for picks for 2016, although they will have 2 or 3 more comp picks next year.

Borg, it would seem so simple, wouldn't it? But it's not.

I want information on the previous pick. I'm looking thru the thread, and someone posts the next pick that hasn't even been broadcasted on TV yet. Way to freaking ruin it for me! Perhaps you understand now? And I'm not the only one on patsfans.com who feels as I do.

Oh and don't give me that, Google it BS. I come to patsfans.com to get my information.

Everything the NFL does pretty much sucks except for the actual games, when the bozos in the league office are (usually) unable to screw it up more until the next day. However, the league did manage to screw up the AFCCG while still in progress.

There is one thing that I like about the changes. It allows me to completely forget about watching the draft, and to focus on either watching something else, or doing something else, and just looking to the internet for draft updates.

The idea that I'd spend Thursday and Friday evenings watching about 15 seconds of "With pick number ____, the New England Patriots select ......" and 6 hours of "Well, he showed good hip movement as a freshman, but got injured as a sophomore" is laughable.

Thanks, Obama! Goodell!

Well if you watch it alone it can be boring, but if you watch it with friends, it is totally different.

First... Chicago?!?!? Come on. No wonder the top three picks are boycotting. Altho... maybe they had 'family commitments'. :D

Second... night time weekday draft sucks.

Third... MULTIPLE night time weekday drafts suck even more.

Fourth... the draft over three days sucks.

That Saturday-Sunday draft in NYC was the BEST. ("The best, Jerry. The best!") It was like prepping for a weekend of playoff games... got the laptop... the cigars... the food... the big screen TV... the understanding of the wife (perhaps the most important part)... the ready laugh for when the Jets pick... the inevitable 'WTF is that guy the Pats picked in the early rounds that no one's heard of' moment... and then alternating between live coverage and the crazy threads here... a great weekend during the time of football desolation.

And now... it just sucks. Rant off.

I used to have an annual draft party that saw about 15 of us get together, have a back yard BBQ and a few beers. It was the best! So many tasty meats and food, great times...lots of football talk.

Now, I don't watch the draft at all, do not get together with my friends, and really don't care that much.

Thanks for ruining the draft Goodell!

What adult can get together with friends on a Thursday night?

The first round of the draft falls on my 30th bday. I am having my annual draft party. 2 large party pizzas from big y, beer, soda, 2 tvs with both NFL Network and ESPN, and....big board.jpg

I don't think two years for winning one Super Bowl could work, but I do like the idea of Super Bowl winner becoming the " host " city the following year.

I HATE the new two night and Saturday format....

I am NOT unhappy that it moves away from New York. NY fans are totally obnoxious in every way.

Anyway, this Saturday shaping up to be a great day for sports...Derby / Draft / some playoff Hockey / fight!! Awesome day!!

I really don't care where the draft is. But I have to say the format of splitting over three day and the first day being a week night sucks.

When it was Saturday and Sunday, I used to get together with my friends on Saturday with some pizza, beer, and a bunch of draft publications and act like we knew anything about the players being drafted and rating the picks. It was an all day long party.

Now I watch round one alone. I might get together with a friend or two for round two and three. And sometimes I don't even watch the rest of the draft or just check in periodically. It has really taken the fun out of the draft. It used to be an event where it was part social gathering and part TV event (like the Super Bowl). Now the social aspect is almost gone.

I do think a lot of the wives and girlfriends like it. At least as long as they get to watch their Grey's Anatomy on the good TV.

I won't be staying up for the pats pick this year...draft is too long and they very well could trade out of it...i will just wake up and read about it friday monring..no big deal

I was saying we won in 2014 and we will win it again in 2015 so under the winner hosts the draft we would get back to back.
