I think they figured just get spygate over as quickly as possible, they placed the camera in an unauthorized position after being warned. They were guilty and admitted it. I bet they thought this was the best way to put it to bed. They didn't understand the narrative would be they spied by stealing signals, not that they stole signals which is legally but did it from an unauthorized position. 20 feet away in the first row and they are fine.

The Patriots won't make this same mistake 2x and Bill even spoke about spygate when discussing deflategate.

Wells take all the time you want if you are digging out the rats nest in the NFL offices and Colts.

That's exactly how I think both cameragate and this joke went down. In 07 Kraft and Bill didn't realize how unjust they would be treated. They do now so they are fighting back. Also in this case we didn't do anything wrong. In 07 we were guilty of a technicality.

The point is this: People are wasting their time, and ours, looking beyond ownership, coaching, schemes, players, hard work, etc., etc. for reasons the Patriots have been so successful. They went 18-1 in 2007, the year they supposedly cheated at the start of the season. They won the SB after supposedly cheating by deflating footballs during the playoffs. The truth is this organization hasn't used "gamesmanship" anymore than any other highly successful franchises including the 49ers during their run, or the Steelers during theirs. The Patriots are successful because their good at what they do, period.
