Florio: Source Says that Wells Report takings so long because investigation turned to the NFL

Well, not by the NFL, anyways. :)

But seriously, there is no way that the NFL is going to throw a game official under the bus on this. They will take Anderson's statement as to the starting conditions as truth for the purposes of the investigation.

And Kraft has already made it clear he wants definitive proof, a ref hand checking game balls in no way provides that.

Kraft can demand what he wants, but does not have to get it.
I think the word of the ref would be considered iron-clad. Do you think he would lie?
If he measured and remembers what the measurements were, it will be considered fact.
So if Anderson says he measured and they were all just over 13.5 and science says they should have dropped 1.5 and they all were around 12, the Patriots are in fact vindicated by science.

So this is for sure going into May. I did not believe it was still possible but this has, yet again, reached a whole new level of absurdity. We no longer exist within our traditional concept of reality. Some small crack of some otherworldly nature, one I can only reference as along the lines of the Twilight Zone, has seeped into our universe and created some incomprehensible Lovecraftian sense of horror and madness.

It's the only rational explanation.

If the NFL follows the policy of "all press is good press", they could hold the report until the slow period in the summer after the draft and minicamp and before training camp. Keep their names at the top of the ticker, even if it's not necessarily in a positive way for a little while... Everyone will still be talking about the NFL$$$

You say nefarious, I say inept and corrupt. Michaels and Collinsworth at the end of the SB talking about the next month/few weeks being critical now sound ridiculous. Business as usual at Roger's outhouse. Embarrassing...
It was ridiculous at the time Collinsworth so overly dramatic that it sounded like the Patriots were going to be kicked out of the league and Brady thrown in jail for a few balls being under pressure.
The way that Michele Tafoya question Mr. Kraft after the game was sickening.

I can't wait til the draft. i think it's going to be a fiasco of booing, maybe someone will throw some rotten tomatoes.

Naw, it's in the Midwest this year. There may be a few 'golly, gosh, darn's

You don't think Pats fans, fresh off the SB victory will travel out to say hi to Roger? Midwest? Is that where the Colts are? Don't think they expected some decision to make their team and Baltimores look less stupid?

Interesting: the referees touch the ball after each play and say nothing. A Colt intercepts the ball (says nothing/contradiction) and a Colt official calls foul? Sniff, sniff.......
My understanding was that the hulabaloo began when a Patriot's employee handed a game official
two footballs, one of which was an unofficial ball. This is when Sherlock Kensil had found his smoking
gun and sprung into action. Turns out the balls were handed to the Patriot's guy by an NFL employee
who had been stealing game balls intended for charities. How embarrassing for the NFL.

Why ...

Do they swear to tell the truth ... the whole truth so help them Goodell?

This seems like a good time to take up alcoholism as a hobby.
I'll show my age by citing a great 70s album/CD by the Doobie Brothers: What were Once Habits are Now Vices.:)

Wake me up when the actual report is out.

You mean resurrect you from the grave? At this point I am not sure the report will be completed in our lifetime.

Well maybe this fits in with Florio's report. The investigation has finally officially switched from the Pats to the league and that explains the timing for Goodell putting out a new statement saying that the investigation has no end in sight.

Maybe. I guess.

How long was the Dolphins' bullying investigation? Where are we in terms of beating that number of days?
