Comforting tweet from Sharks of Vegas

And SoV says they do have a source. Hopefully it's legit.

Fair - the communication itself was likely brief, but the complete shift from exonerating Patriots to performing a colonoscopy on anyone on Kraft's payroll...could that have happened as fast? I am not so sure. What would have caused that?

Answer:
1) The Kensil angle
2) the realization that Grigson had contacted NFL officials several DAYS before the game and
3) the discovery of Scott Miller trying to sell the kicking balls became evident at that point.

At that moment, the NFL knew it had to get the investigation out of its hands and to pick up the red phone to Wells.

It does not mean there was a "complete shift from exhonerating the Patriots" as you say, but it means that the NFL realized that evening that it could no longer be the lone adjudicator.

I'm working on a book on Boston's 2024 Olympic bid. It's almost done.

That may actually make more sense than SoV finishing a book in 3 months about an investigation that we don't even know the result of yet.

I have no idea what to think of them (him), aside from the fact that it's great to see him supporting the team so strongly.

Deflategate the movie is scheduled for release Jan 2016

If SOV is SO connected as some here postulate, what is SOV's take on when the Wells report is released and what in at least broad outlines does it contain? Anything on the League Office? Or not? Anything on the Colts GM, etc? Or not. Seems like an inside source would at least know the latest outlook for the report's release to the NFL. Contents shortly thereafter.

This guy is just guessing like the rest of us. That's obvious to many people who read a tweet that starts with "my theory is....." That isn't "reporting" or "having sources," that is just giving one's opinion.

I agree with you that if he is anywhere as near connected as he suggests, we should have more details leaked out as the report concludes. When that may be, is anyone's guess.

My theory is the Colts took air out of the Jackson Int ball. Called Kensil to get the investigation going. They knew the Pats (Cont)

Balls were under inflated since Brady likes them like that and the refs don't check. Instant scandal.

It was all started by Brady saying "those guys need to read the rule book" about the Ravens the week before.

Its been said so many times before but I just can't get past that the fact that Aaron Rodgers has FREELY ADMITTED that he intentionally overinflates all of his balls past the legal limit with the specific intent of trying to sneak them past the refs inspection. Yes I understand that he isn't breaking any rules as it is up the refs alone to inspect and approve the balls, so if they aren't up to spec but still get through that's on them. But he is freely flaunting his intent to get around the rules. And he is getting no crap at all. While we on the other hand, in the face of overwhelming evidence that we engaged in no wrongdoing or gamesmenship regarding balls at all, are being crucified.

It's almost enough to make me want to check out of sports.

I agree with all this - I just don't think it has anything to do with SoV being right.

FWIW, here's their latest on their source:

@trollinguphill it is based on what I have seen so far AND what my source has said. Source is NOT involved with the investigation.

Still waiting for someone to show what they have been wrong about. It should be easy given the criticism of them?

I'm not rehashing the argument. I think I've made it clear on where I stand on interpreting their exoneration announcement. What point would it be of me to debate you at this point? I guess I require a much higher burden of proof than you do for trusting Twitter sources who convince people to gamble for a living.

Yep, it's my low standards that are the real issue. You nailed it.

In this case, yes, I probably did. You clearly want to believe too much.

Look at it this way -- if the team under investigation for this were the Jets, or Steelers, or Broncos, and SoV was saying what it's been saying, would the SoV believers really, honestly be as quick to believe them as they have been?

Why on Earth has there not been even a vague update from the NFL or Wells on this? Like a simple

"we're wrapping up"

or

"we're still in the process of investigating"

You know, something.

Well, for one--they've been wrong about the investigation wrapping up in the first few days, so there's that.

It looks like we have to hope that the bulk of his speculation is coming from his source, rather than his opinion.

Either way, this guy drummed up money and business by going out on a limb, so he wins no matter what. As I've mentioned before, it's been good to see someone publicly backing our organization.

When the results of the investigation are released and if SOV turns out to be right, how soon will we see something like this from Florio or one of his ilk:

"Why is a pro-Patriots league insider feeding information to a sports handicapper? What other information have they been exchanging? Is this why [cherry-picks some statistic where the Patriots have performed well]? #SharksGate"

I'm beginning to think that this could go into May. Can you believe that? Would you have thought that was even conceivable back in February?
