Aside From Tom Brady, Patriots 6th Round Has Been Unimpressive Since 2000

So basically, aside from getting the best player in NFL history, our sixth rounds have been nothing to write home about?

I'll take it.

We also draft last or near last in every round every year since Brady became the starter and that includes the 6th and 7th rounds. That makes it even more difficult for us to get some starters in the late rounds.

Aside from the gunshot, did you enjoy the play, Mrs. Lincoln?

We got the GOAT in rd. 6. We can pick all the Markell Carters of the world from here on out and still be way ahead of the game.

Just think of the small odds of a 6th rounder making the team. First there are only a limited number of spots for your position. Odds are you are going to have veterans, free agents and players in the same draft ahead of you. Look at Brady as an example. He had 3 other QB's on the roster ahead of him.
