You're off the clock. It's none of the company's business. And backing this sort of nonsense is just going to make it worse. We need to be railing against those businessess that do this, not against the people who are 'caught'.

I don't know that that's true in entertainment, when public perception is part of the job.

but this is a nothingburger - she shouldn't have been suspended. Compared to the **** some folks (Schilling?) post every day, this was nothing.

The use of "suspension" as a method of addressing job performance is so stupid. It is a punishment-based remnant of the industrial era paternalism. Carrots and sticks are so done.

Chill man, it's an old joke from a thread a while back where someone complimented Ashley's hair, it's all in good fun trust me. No misogyny here.

Love the new pic Ross, I have to update mine as well soon!!!!

The Ashley caller spoke of how ridiculous McHenry was and that as an attractive person (McHenry), there is a standard to be upheld so that people avoid linking beauty with success.

Well, all I can say is that Ashley doesn't speak for all of us beautiful people and if that trailer park b.tch ever pulls that stunt on me I will make her eat her GED with her morning pop tarts and hang my glamour shot and Masters in Looking Spectacular over her pictures of her six fat ugly kids and Vicodin addled stepdad/boyfriend. There are millions and millions of cars belonging to the squalid masses they can tow so there is no reason to inconvenience those of us who have it all and the sooner they know that and learn their place in life the better for all of us.

Now, as a renowned philosopher of the sexes once said, go make me some bacon and eggs.

(If anyone is an Archer fan and hasn't seen it, the Conan/Archer spoof at the end of the above video is hilarious).

Speaking of PatsFans on week...which one of you guys is Steve from fall river?

Nobody gives a rat's ass about this woman, and anyone stupid enough to say "She must be representing ESPN when she's yelling at that person" is an idiot who should [mod edit].

Maybe you don't care, but I assure you that many companies who are advertising on ESPN do. They don't want their product being associated to someone like her now. ESPN has no choice to suspend her, or else they would lose a few sponsors.

Money talks. Money is always the bottom line.

She should have known better. All public personalities know that everything bad they do will end up en facebook, instagram, youtube or one of those social media sites.

Not a single company in the world cares. There's a difference between caring and reacting.

I think that's a good point. So many companies in the world make moves and decisions based on the idea that the public is utterly repulsed by any kind of remotely bad behavior. But in reality, do any of us really care that much? If you watched ESPN before, are you going to stop watching because McHenry yelled at someone on her own time? Or are you more likely going to stop watching because Mark Brunell is crying over Framegate?

It really is all pretty stupid, I guess.

Yep.

This is the same ESPN that re-hired Keith Olbermann. The notion that they actually care that McHenry chewed someone out is laughable.

Wanna get on ESPN?...just tweet or e-mail the chipmunks at the ESPN terminals that you have a new Patriot scandal involving whatever...aliens, hidden transvestite murderer draft picks, Bob Kraft's wine bill...just make it up....coast to coast and on your way to fortune and fame...just leave your soul on the carpet on the way out, thanx...

I didn't say companies care about McHenry, because they don't. They care about their product being linked to a douche like McHenry. If ESPN didn't care about any possible backlash from that situation, they wouldn't have suspended McHenry...what do they have to gain from suspending an unknown employee if nobody cares ? To show the world they have a higher sense of moral ?

So sure, believe all you want that nobody cares about this type of stuff. There's a reason why there are a bunch of magazines, such as US Weekly or People, and TV shows such as 'Entertainment Weekly', 'Access Hollywood', 'Extra', and 'TMZ' that covers celebrities 24/7...I'm sure they all exists because the average joe do not care at all what the celebrities, even the minor ones, are doing at all time.

Now I don't care about what she did. I'm not into that cult of personality stuff, I couldn't care less what happens to her. But I wouldn't want my company to be associated with her in any way. Perception is reality, and I wouldn't want to lose any possible income because of a no-name wannabe who is shown all over the internet verbally bullying a clerk.

no biggie but i had to log in just to like this.

how can anybody talk to somebody like she did ?

Well, I see you've dug your righteous heels in. Nobody's disagreeing with your assertion that it's nothing.

But yeah, employers who depend on ratings certainly care. Ask Keith Law.

Isn't ESPN guilty of something if it's a suspendable offense? Just because they suspended her after the fact shouldn't relieve them of any responsibility.

And how is that any different than walking into a room and hearing someone talk bs about someone else?

As for Ashley, she seems like a nice young lady and knows a thing or two about football. The bigger issue though is has she confirmed or denied the report that she was heard on WEEI?

Well 1960, when I saw she liked my first post, I assumed that was Ashley's way of saying it was indeed her chatting with the hosts on Friday.

Britt McHenry is guilty of horrible judgement. The towing company is guilty of being a predator for money. Both are wrong; at 28 years old....not sure my reaction would have been different than McHenry's. At my age now, my reaction would not have any where close to that 28 yr. old reaction.
...................Give her a break.............................
