Stork seems to have a healthy dose of "old school smashmouth" running through his veins..

Wow. For anybody who ever said "spelling and punctuation don't matter," consider the impact of moving the hyphen one word to the left. Better than "Panda Bear Eats, Shoots, and Leaves."

I also <3 Stork, don't get me wrong. I just love words too.

Love Stork, hope we can get someone with that same type of mentality to play guard right beside him.
Thinking maybe poaching another Seminoles lineman this year would be wise.

I hate to agree with Tanguay - but I feel the same way

The basic ingredient for Patriots success is simple: Protect Brady. Give him enough time and he'll make a play.

The rest, usually works itself out as Belichick can do more with less on a D than anyone.

Now without a doubt, Revis was brought in (at a bargain price remember) to help address some of the big arm QBs the Pats would potentially face - including Baltimore, Indy and Denver (more so the AFC than concerns about facing Wilson in the SB)

But even there, it's not so much what Revis DID it's what he DIDN'T do - and that is he didn't have the opposing QB throw in his area. Other DBs still had to make their plays and Belichick will most certainly adapt the D accordingly now - but if you look at the AFC QBs guys like Manning don't seem to have the same deep arm anymore either.

It's pretty simple in the end. We saw what the team looked like with a shaky OL and we saw what they looked like with a strong OL. Stork gets the majority of credit on that from me - and that made all the difference this season, even more so than Revis.

Gotta love this tidbit

One source told me after a running play was called in the huddle, Stork looked the running back in the eye and told him: “Stick your head on my ass and don’t look up.” Stork may be a rookie, but he didn’t act like one. And certainly didn’t play like one.

It's that kind of thinking that got Sam Cunningham into the team HOF.:p

I love the fact Tang backed up and took the hit and was apologetic and showed some concession in that piece. I like to fire missles at him for being a contrarian but he nailed it with that article. Stork WAS as valuable as Revis this year.

We scored bigtime with a 4th rounder. We don't get Lombardi #4 without that guy.

Or maybe more appropriately, to play guard "left" beside him :)

According to Reiss they are talking about Fleming or Cannon in that spot.. stay tuned.

I feel Wendel has that mean streak in him, he just unfortunately doesn't have the size.

Yeah it is unfortunate, his size causes him to whiff on blocks constantly. At the same time the guy is always fighting to stay on the team. Got to hand it to him despite his physical limitations he doesn't give up. Now let's find someone who can actually replace him.

LOL, brutal business... "Kudos/get lost." It is what it is.

He is one of the examples why i hate some scouts. They pretend to Know everything.

He is better than Alex Mack, IMO.

Yes i said it, and feel relieved.
You want to talk about scouts.... Check out the comments. 'Why the hell did the pats draft him "SO HIGH"?' LOL.

But I have to say, after reading that draft report whew ... He was like walking wounded his entire college career. I knew he was injured when drafted, but did not realize that he was injured so often. Kudos to him for sticking it out thru all that.

Every year I do a rolling "draftnik" recap of our picks, tongue-in-cheek, the premise being that every pick we take is horrible... my stork entry...

Round 4, pick 105: Bryan Stork, C, Florida State. 6’4”, 315. With my man’s binky, Brock Vereen, still on the board, the Pats go for another dwarf-armed prospect, center Bryan Stork of Florida State. I’m 5’10 and I wear a 34/35 – Stork? 32/33. But never fear: if our players can’t reach, our scouting staff can. I’m sure they’re patting themselves on the back for taking him in the 4th instead of the 3rd when nobody else had them on their board until the 6th or 7th.

Stork’s another versatile, smart guy, capable of playing center or guard, provided you never need to run block. He also fills the crying need at Gingerbeard Man we’ve had since Matt Light hung up the cleats. But he’s got a big body to go with those short arms, something Ryan Wendell could have used while being trampled by more Broncos in the AFCCG than Logan Mankins was in his rodeo days.

He was named the winner of the Rimington Award for the center with the best guards playing next to him last year, but given the somewhat sub-Hannahesque stature of starting guard Dan Connolly (yeah I know he’s a right guard but work with me,) he’s not likely to bust into the starting lineup anytime soon. Tom Brady’s hands will continue to explore the familiar taint of Ryan Wendell while Stork takes ballet classes or something and learns to move his plodding feet and develop at least as much motion in his hips as my uncle in Sunrise Estates. But be careful, Bryan – Medicare won’t pay to replace yours. Pats draftnik grade: D-
