Ladies and Gentlemen, prepare to be humbled! The annual PatsFans draft contest has returned. The rules are simple:

The Patriots have 9 draft picks. Name 9 players you think they might choose. The most hits wins.

That's it. Choose any strategy you like -- a straight 7-round mock, a roundup of the tallest available cornerbacks, a tour of the Rutgers defense. Then submit your your ballot to this thread, IN THIS FORMAT:

Malcom Brown, DT, Texas

(All parts of it, please, and spelling counts. Consider that Malcolm Brown, Texas is a different prospect.)

And now, let the picks begin! Any positive score is an accomplishment, and if the winner manages to hit 3+ picks I'll compose a victory ode in his or her honor.

Early this year!

Jordan Phillips, DT, Oklahoma
Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami
Grady Jarrett, DT, Clemson
Stephone Anthony, LB, Clemson
Mark Glowinski, G, West Virginia
John Crockett, RB, North Dakota State
Tyrell Williams, WR, Western Oregon
Justin Coleman, CB, Tennessee
Randall Evans, CB, Kansas

If it weren't for the permanent nature of these posting I would deny everything. Good luck and drive safely.

I'm building in an assumption that 32 gets traded away for a mid-rounder and a pick in 2016.

Grady Jarrett, DT, Clemson
Paul Dawson, LB, TCU
Ibraheim Campbell, S, Northwestern
Mike Davis, RB, South Carolina
Jeremiah Poutasi, OL, Utah
Chris Conley, WR, Georgia
Justin Coleman, CB, Tennessee
Joe Cardona, LS, Navy
Joey Mbu, DT, Houston

Can't do any worse than last year's 0, I suppose....

Byron Jones, CB, UConn
Laken Tomlinson, OL, Duke
David Johnson, RB, Northern Iowa
Alex Carter, CB, Stanford
Cameron Artis-Payne, RB, Auburn
Austin Sheperd, OL, Alabama
Joey Mbu, DT, Houston
Jeff Luc, LB, Cincinnati
Cedric Reed, DE, Texas

We should do the UDFA contest right after the draft ends!

I think you get bragging rights for picking a diamond in the rough but it's a draft contest so it wouldn't count.

Well I'll just have to hope Sendish and Vigil get drafted then. Thanks.

David Johnson - RB, Northern Iowa
Eric Rowe - CB, Utah
Quinten Rollins - CB, Miami (Ohio)
John Miller - G, Louisville
Mitch Morse - G, Missouri
Tre McBride - WR, William & Mary
Tony Lippett - WR, Michigan St.
Grady Jerrett - DT, Clemson

No OL because I have no freaking clue.

I only took Harrison late and no early OL because I couldn't decide on who might fall to 32 and who they might like in the second. So it was a strategic decision even though they very well would take OL high in the draft.

THIS IS NOT MY BALLOT. IT'S MY DAUGHTER'S. I invited her to participate in the draft contest, but she pointed out that she knows nothing at all about football. I told her to pick based just on the players' names, figuring that would give her as good a shot as any of us.

Good Meanings:
Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State
Zach Vigil, LB, Utah State
Marcus Hardison, DT, Arizona State
Jamison Crowder, WR, Duke

Aggressive-Sounding:
Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota
Grady Jarrett, DT, Clemson
Darren Waller, WR, Georgia Tech

Just Because:
Ali Marpet, OL, Hobart
Clayton Geathers, SS, Central Florida

Hey since she is patchick's child, I'm predicting she'll finish second in this contest.:D

Super busy this offseason with work. Not a lot of research on my part but it doesn't matter. I never even come close with what this team does on draft day.

Ali Marpet, OL,Hobart
Tre McBride, WR,William and Mary
Mike Reilly,LB, William and Mary. They were at the pro day to see McBride.
Carl Davis, DT, Iowa
Joe Cardona, LS, Navy
Grady Jarrett, DT, Clemson. Watch it be Shelton or Phillips.
Mike Davis, RB, South Carolina, Too much smoke on this one. I sense fire.
Byron Jones, CB, Connecticut
Shaq Thompson,S/LB, Washington
