I keep getting this sneaking suspicion that BB isn't to enamored with this draft class.. if value isn't deemed to be there .. I could totally see him taking a similar approach he has done in the past and trade picks away for players.

Players like

Fletcher Cox
Cameron Jordan
Evan Mathis
Damion Harrison

Did I miss any others?

Could all be acquired for draft capital.

The Pats have a ton of cap space next year close to $50m+ under once some contracts like Mayo and Amendola and Arrington are cleared.

Anyhoo... Here's hoping for a couple of curveballs.

I like the idea of trading picks for players, particularly at LG and LB but I have to ask, what do you base your notion that BB isn't enamoured with this draft class on?

Why should we assume they are cleared? And a lot of that cap space is going to be gone once HT, Jones and Solder (or his replacement) are taken care of. Plus Collins, potentially.

I doubt that cap space causes NE to do anything they wouldn't have done anyway.

I can see Mayo, Cannon and Amendola both being cut/traded next year. IDK about Arrington. The Pat like him and he will probably renegotiate.

I could see them all as well, but not so much that they should be assumed. And if they are, then someone will need to replace them, so it isn't a total win.

Honestly just a hunch.. I've seen the comments by John Schneider regarding the first round talent and others. I def think there is value in the 40-60 range but just not enamored with the talent that is available in this draft.

You can see where we can trim things and the fact that Hightower and Jones are included. We will have some serious cash to spend next year.

Don't hold your breath that the Pats pull a Jets next year and sign everybody. It's not how the Pats operate. Get your own house in order then sign complimentary depth guys.
