Lets trade every draft pick we can for him (Sign the Beast XXIV-d)

So you don't think Adrian Peterson would be absolutely lethal in an offense with Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski? Not to say it's going to happen because, let's be honest, it probably won't, but he would make an already very good offense supremely potent. Personally, I'd rather draft a RB. Todd Gurley (1), Ameer Abdullah (2), Cameron Artis-Payne (4), or Josh Robinson (5) and use the resources we would have to use in order to bring in AP at OL, WR, DL, and DB.

Let's not (do a ditka), and just say we did (in a fantasy league).

Mortgage your cap and your future on one single getting older player at the position with the shortest avg career span - brilliant (I assume insincere ) proposal.

No, this offense is not set up that way. The best running game this offense has to offer is when Cameron Flemming checks in as a TE/6th OL. Then it matters little who's toting the rock from what I've seen.

Adrian Peterson is one of the best RB's in the NFL. Of course he would be electric in this offense. That's akin to saying Calvin Johnson wouldn't matter in this offense because the passing game is not set up to accommodate a downfield threat.

Agree. You can almost pull it off. If you could get Guard like a Evan Mathis if he gets cut and hope one of the kids make it on the "bomb squad" O Line roster here now.

Does UDFA Count? There are two small school studs who can be coached up. Jesse Somsel SAGINAW VALLEY STATE OG. 6'4" 310 LBS . BENCHED 46!!! And the kid from McNeese State Antoine Everett 6'3" 315lbs. who was an OT but switches to OG. He was superb against the Cornhuskers. They almost beat Nebraska last year.

You pick up AP and a couple lower end picks of UDFA that would work, and on paper, the Pats would be unstoppable. It would be a lot of fun to watch as a fan.

Did you read the rest of my post outside of the first sentence?

Nobody with even half a brain is going to give up the farm for ANY running back on the wrong side of 30.

That's the beauty (and frustration), of being a Pats fan. On one hand, you spend an entire draft season learning about players YOUR team will never have a chance of drafting, on the other you know that a couple of the picks you have never heard much about will end up becoming a very productive players for us within a couple of years

Then there is the aggravating fact that almost everyone here would have done a better job drafting if only THEY had been in charge instead of what's his name. Of course as the years go on, those of us with 20-20 hindsight will actually get better at our picks. ;) Unfortunately for BB, his 20-20 hindsight can only get worse.

As the draft gets closer, I try and hope for a few guys I think we might have a shot at, but I find I find I myself less frustrated in I don't follow the draft closely. It's almost easier to wait until the 3 days are over and we get a look at the entire class. In the end I still won't know much, and will expect even less. But some how as the year goes on, at least 3 picks will find decent roles for themselves.

BTW- it should be noted that there have been several players selected in the 2nd round 3 years ago, who have ended up being much less productive than Tavon Wilson has been. The haers would probably be better off choosing some other exemplar, Jackson perhaps

Some day I hope the NFL will go to a serpentine draft which is really much fairer

I had no idea what a serpentine draft was until I googled it after reading this post. Thanks for that, and it would be interesting even though I am in favor of the current set up.

If his trade value is down, the Pats should trade for him. And from a personal note, I don't want this guy on this team because he is a turd. Otherwise, pass.

From a pure football standpoint (disregard the stuff from last year), he still don't think has a lot of tread on his tire left and on the wrong side of 30. Yes, he had all of last year off, but even before that the Vikes overworked him. There is a decent amount of risk taking him. And he is at most going to give you a year or two of elite talent. It is just the fact of a RB especially one who got overworked like Peterson.

I don't see the Pats an Adrian Peterson away from repeating. So, I wouldn't sell the farm for him. Even if they were, I don't think you should sell the farm.

Sorry Ken, but chances are pretty much nil. NOT BEING FAIR - is kind of THE POINT of the draft.

Fantasy drafts use serpentine in order to even out the draft so that the last team gets the same avg quality over the course of their team building.

The NFL is trying to pull the LOSERS UP BY THEIR BOOTSTRAPS; how does giving the worst teams 1 Great player at his draft level; and 6 ****ty players at their draft level do anything to help that team be MORE COMPETITIVE the next year?

That's also akin to ignoring to what you have in the trenches. Calvin Johnson is great, but if your QB's flat on his back or running for his life every play it doesn't really matter how great he is, does it?

Madden/Fantasy thinking.

There ex 40 million dollar tight end was just convicted of 1st degree murder..lets trade the farm for a child abuser! LMAO

Will never happen!!!

How many rings does Calvin have?

Even Jerry let his talented but oft-injured and now overpaid running back go this summer.
