Interesting Tidbit from Albert Breer about the Wells' Investigation Today (4/10)

Just exchanged some tweets with Mike.

It appears he has heard stuff from people that the primary focus remains on NE, but that he has enough questions on the validity of what they are saying or their closeness to the situation that he prefers to report it as his "sense".

So I'd say it's more than just his gut feel/supposition, but less than being actually told it by a known reliable source.
When you exchange tweets with Ted Wells, get back to us.

Well Felger and Mazz have again weighed in on the Wells report and it should be of no surprise that they believe that the report will be damaging to the Patriots. No surprise since Felger has always believed that the Pats knowingly tampered with the balls, even in the face of all evidence to the contrary. What concerns me is that they were extensively referencing the Curran article and while they put words in his mouth I feel like they did make some concerning points about how the league will find something and f**k us. Of course I'm sure they are looking forward to it but I digress. For the first time in a while I am getting worried that we are going to get screwed. Not because we actually did anything wrong but because of unfair bias against us. For a couple months now it's been a pretty optimistic outlook on how the Wells report was seemingly going and how it seemed that the investigation was taking so long because the league or the Colts were a major focus. But now if Curran's fears are right (and they might be) the NFL might have spent the past 3 months pouring over every single internal detail of the Patriots and after 80 days they finally found some BS discrepancy in something to nail us.

Ivan any chance you can cheer me up?

I'm just curious, do other sports cities have a Felger?

They have no more insight than anyone and look how wrong they have been. They had the Patriots 110% guilty from the start. If Patriots are cleared they look like crap, they want the Patriots to be guilty and have a vested interest in that. Q is if Wells does.

For whatever reason Boston is infamous for having sports personalities that dislike their own teams.

Not in Houston. Never will a critical word about the home teams ever be printed, at least in the Houston Comical

This is exactly why some of us have been leaning towards the apprehensive/negative side since day one. It certainly isn't because we think the team is guilty, but more of the fact that you can follow the trail of breadcrumbs and realize that it's been a witch hunt the entire time.

I am done with the foolishness. Just like every thread you get involved in, you just want to spin every argument and every piece of information to force feed your argument in on people. It doesn't matter the topic or the poster you engage. You don't want to debate an argument. You think everyone you "debate" with is your enemy and has to be utterly defeated and forced to bow to your greatness in your point.

I am done getting sucked into this stupidity..
I'm not debating. I pointed out:
1) Breer made no reference to anything other than his guess
2) Curran's comments were opposite of what you inferred into Breer's
3) You are taking sentences out of context
I didn't spin anything, in fact, I argued against the spin you put on it that wasn't there.
If you want to stop there, that is fine with me.

No question the league will find something and fine us..even if we did nothing wrong...they can't make themselves look bad...so they won't and will fine us x amount for nothing...watch

Ummmm, you posted in this thread.

Yeah, after a couple of posters whipped it out and started peeing down each others legs over it. I'm interested in deflate-gate news. I'm not interested in a back and forth pissing contest argument between posters. That's OK, nothing an ignore button can't take care of.

134 posts regarding nothing new ............. it's definitely the off season.o_O

I'm still confused about deflategate updates, say from writers like Breer et. al. are the threads here or not? Or in special Deflategate Purgatory???

I first found Felger's act to be funny. Then after a while it got annoying. Now it's just plain boring.

When he's not ripping the Patriots he's ripping the Red Sox. Or the bruins. Or the Celtics. Or in the rare moment that he's not trashing one of the teams he's tearing apart the fans.

If the Wells Report says that the Patriots did something wrong Felger will spend the next month ranting about Belichick and Brady.

I'd the report clears the Pats of any wrongdoing then Felger will just say that is because Kraft is pulling strings.

I can't listen to that clown anymore.

As far as the scope of the investigation goes I have no idea what they are or are not looking at all I know of that they are spending an absurd amount of time on an idiotic issue. As far as the Patriots culpability I have no worries whether it's one ball, one game, or the last five years, I believe they have had the same protocol for handling game balls since they changed the rules and follow it every time and I don't believe any ball attendant had ever screwed with them at any time. I don't believe the NFL has anything at all on the Patriots and we would know if they did because they leak like a sieve whenever they think it will make the Patriots look bad. As for the pessimism, misery, and paranoia I have nothing to offer because there is no counter to " but but but Goodell," those who believe the league office will alter the Wells Report to make up evidence against the Patriots will continue to do so no matter what is said or how much sense it makes.

I just heard Felger's spin on the Curran article. They are taking Curran as hard facts when Curran said himself that he doesn't even know if his source is speaking the truth or just rumors that are being spread as facts. From Curran's article:

They’ve talked to enough people. At the owner’s meetings, I asked someone who would know what the holdup was. They said, “You figure they’d talk to the backup quarterback, right? Well, they’re talking to the backup quarterbacks from years ago too.” I don’t know if that was apocryphal or not, but I’ve heard the investigators have been through Foxboro more than once.

The definition of apocryphal is "of doubtful authenticity, although widely circulated as being true". So like Mike Reiss, he is hearing things from sources, but has questions about whether the sources are giving correct info or spin or just rumors.

So in other words, we don't know. Of course Felger and Mazz take it as the Pats are doomed.

I still don't think they will not investigate the League and the Colts. There are way too many questions about what happened with the League and the Colts for the Wells report not to investigate this. I think there are enough national guys who will not let a 100 page report go if this isn't addressed when there are clear red flags there like them knowingly letting a League NFL employee who was stealing footballs on the field and the inconsistencies between the league and the Colts about who knew what and when.
