This had to be one of the best and most memorable days we've had during the offseason :D

Wish the audio was better so could pick up the Pedro chatter..

Didn't know he batted lefty.

The best players in their respective positions in their generations. And they're both Boston players!

Didn't know he batted lefty.
Lots of right handed folk swing a bat/golf club/hockey stick from the left side, myself included.
What's weird about Tom is he golfs from the right side yet was taking batting practice from the left.
That boy is even more talented than we knew.... :D

Yep. TB. Pedro. Bird and Raymond-Jean Bourque round it off for me...

Your favorites are all great players, just like mine. I'll go with TB, Pedro, Russell and Orr. I can make a case for each one as the greatest to ever play in their sport.
I'd never even consider putting a juiced up career dh on my list.

I would add the great, and too often forgotten, John Havlicek. He is a member of eight NBA championships (only Russell and Sam Jones have more), holder of the Celtic record for games played and points scored, and a player in two of the greatest NBA games ever, the 1965 Eastern Conference Championship against Philly ("Havlicek stole the ball") and the 1976 triple overtime championship win against Phoenix.

Yep. Looks like we are a few years apart in sports eras. Without a doubt, Russell and Orr are the most impactful players in their franchise's history. If I was a little older they'd be mine too.

Ortiz has brought a lot of joy to this region and I have nothing against him. Agreed- I don't put him in the top 5 of Sox "players".

Along with Russell, Bird, Sam Jones and McHale he is in the top 5 all-time greats in team history.

I can't put Paul Pierce ahead of him but if you look at the averages and the career totals....virtually even in the major categories.

Agreed. The difference is the distinction between Brady and Manning, championships.
