d%#*!@t, we get the two worst weeks at home.

I like that we have the Saints again - the joint practices we've done in the past seem to be really good for the team and the fans. Too bad it isn't at home.

I remember one of the times after the Giants beat us in the SB they showed top 10 SB moments(from I think it was 42) during halftime or something. I admit that was pretty funny. We should get them this time with top ten moments from SB 49 and then maybe a trivia question like what NFC East team hasn't made the playoffs in 4 years?

Why do i feel like we always play giants in PS....Maybe it's because we do..but always feels like it

They are always the 4th game. Probably due to being close and not division rival. Don't know how the scheduling works.

Bourbon st, baby!!!!

Hmm just realized I'm going to only been about an hour and change from New Oreleans this summer. Might see the Pats for the first time in Louisana lol. Anyone ever been there?

It's probably just due to the Boston New York Rivalry. They do a lot of that for other cities too. The Raiders and 49ers used to go at it every year too until the crowd problem between the two teams happened so they scrapped it. Joint practices with the Packers and Saints would be awesome.

What I find most interesting is how they haven't announced who we're playing on opening night, must be because our selection truly sucks lol

Nah I think every team plays a team that is close by for week 4. Guess they decided Jets-Giants wasn't really fair for week 4 with neither traveling.

I don't know what it is, but there are several teams that are not close to where they're playing on week 4.

It'll be fun to open the preseason at Gillette against the Packers, should be fun. Two weeks traveling, then home for week 4, then home again for the season opener. That works for me.

Nah, it's a travel/proximity thing. Nobody cares about that fourth preseason game.

I would have thought that a Patriots-Packers joint practice would be a good possibility, but I am doubting that will happen since it is so early (week one).

This is the second straight year playing Carolina in the third week. It appears to be a home-and-home agreement (last year was at home versus the Panthers). I doubt it is a trend going forward; not that Belichick and Ron Rivera are enemies - it's just that they are not best buddies either. It's an east coast game against a non-conference opponent. On the other hand the Patriots don't play the NFC South again until 2017, so perhaps the Pats could play the Panthers and Saints next pre-season too.

Weeks two and three would be the best bet for joint practices, which means both would be on the road. If that turns out to be the case, New England fans won't be able to watch any of these - which would be too bad. Hopefully I am wrong and Pats fans will get one week of joint practices - even though week one would be odd timing.

As @Tunescribe mentioned, it stinks that weeks two and three are on the road (just as it was in 2011) - though to be fair, last year was the opposite. For the sake of fans (as well as the team) it would be better to go back to the 2013 setup, alternating home and away games.

Looking ahead, the Patriots play the NFC East in the 2015 regular season; that means we can expect to see the Pats play the Eagles and perhaps Washington in the 2016 preseason.

I guess this means The Patriots won't open against the the Giants in the regular season.

I would have liked the Packers in game 3 so the Pats could give their secondary a true test.

I don't like the week 3 game at Carolina.
I'm still disgusted at the loss there 2 years ago, and now Cam Newton gets to act the clown again in what
will be the big tune-up game before the regular season, in front of an audience looking for injuries.

I like this a lot. A lot of good QB play coming our way in preseason. Should hopefully help salt the new guys just a tad before the regular season. Better than playing 4 horrible QBs anyway.

They were never going to open against the Giants in the regular season. That's an away game.

It will be good for Rodgers, he can come and learn a thing or two from the GOAT and then carry the pads at the end of training session.
