Stevan Ridley signs with the Jets

Given that I prefer Ridley to Blount, that is mighty unfortunate.

Probably not a bad choice for him I guess, Ivory is decent but isn't necessarily Bowles' guy, he could have a decent timeshare there in their offense. But if he was gonna run in a 1A/1B situation, NE would have probably been his best bet. Seems clear that Bill said "smell ya later" and Ridley went to whatever timeshare situation seemed most potentially promising. Ivory also seems to get banged up a little too IIRC so Ridley could get some starts if that continues.

Looking forward to the Pats stuffing him and Ivory twice next year.

Good move for the Jets. Can't exactly wish the guy well, unfortunately.

I do it 20 times....why give them a free ride in the pre-season?

Except when they play the Broncos, Colts, Steelers, Chargers, Dolphins, or you know like any team that might be competing with the Pats for a playoff spot.

Hate the Jets all you want but I want what is best for the Pats and if that means the Jets play the Bronocs I am a Jets fan that day. Seriously, why do people put thought into hating a team that is so insignificant or worse root for the Jets to lose when the team that beats them could hurt the Pats chances at home field, a bye or a playoff spot.

The Jets must lose, this is a fact of life.

Sorry to see him go, especially to the Jets. But I always saw Ridley as guy who gave us his best, loved being a Patriot, and embraced the Patriot Way, so I'll never gratuitously trash him just because he now plays for another team...even the Jets. Its just now I'll have to root against him twice a year. Circumstances created this outcome, he never would have chosen to leave. I'm glad he got his ring.
I look forward to seeing him get thoroughly pummeled while setting a new franchise record for fumbles.

Thank god he is not going to fumble in crucial moments and get mediocre yards for New England next season.

So, now all we need is for Dan Connolly to sign with Tampa Bay, and our total number of Compensatory Picks in 2016 will go to 5.

Max number a team can receive is 4.

Dan Connolly signs with Tampa Bay, it frees the Pats to sign another low-level guy without losing a comp pick however.

Hope, for him and the Pats, that it is a huge contract.

Ridley is very good RB. Too bad he is with Jets.

Veeren and Ridley drafted as 2&3rd rounder both gone. With the RBs getting paid pennies i dont like the idea of drafting RB under 6th rd. That would be simply stupid.

Ridley is now dead to me. I hope he lives to regret signing with the JESTS.

Ridley.....who is this fellow?

I seem to have forgotten

For 25 years I had a lot of respect for the Jets, mostly because of their SB win in 1969 and how it shut up the NFLers. Then the last 20 years happened.

I don't understand how any Pats fan can look at the Jets without contempt. Look at all the underhanded crap that they've pulled starting with Tuna Face. I'd rather see them get humiliated and take my chances against the other teams.

Also, the Jets have improved this year and are hardly insignificant and are one of only three teams in the entire NFL that the Pats have to beat to secure a division title and a playoff spot.
