You are correct. There's no doubt Hernandez would have been a higher draft pick without the pot and incidents involving police.

On balance, Hernandez was a much more negative drag on the Patriots than he was an asset, especially when you take into account the dead money that the team had to lug around after he was arrested for the murder of Odin Lloyd, and the damage he continues to represent for his actions.

As a 4th round selection, however, he produced right out of the gate and helped shape a new two-TE passing offense with Gronkowski that hopefully we will see a version of in 2015 with Scott Chandler.

Hernandez isn't a bust as a player, he is a bust/disaster as a person. The Patriots got the talent right when they drafted him. I disagree that somehow the Patriots should have known this guy was going to end up where he is today.

I do agree that the Patriots need, and hopefully will, stay away from players with histories of violence and firearms offenses. 2014 was littered with situations that set teams back and tarnished the game of football.

You most certainly did claim you can draft better than Belichick and your posts trashing his drafting for years and years more than demonstrate it. You were also missing in action for a long long time after the KC game and we mocked that the entire time. You have been one of Belichicks harshest critics and while you can try to pretend otherwise now that us something every long term reader of this site is well aware of.?deny it all you want your track record says otherwise and you damn well know it. As fans go you are among the worst and the fact that you right back to crying already simply reinforces the fact that you are never happy with anything they accomplish and that your criticism of them will never end. You missed a great season "triumph" it's a shame you quit on them so early but not surprising as you always do. I won't spend my day looking through thousands if locked threads for the exact quote. I called you out when you said it and have called you on it many times since. And your criticism if him has never wavered since. 2 times he has traded entirely out of the 1st round '09 & '13

Did you wait for it? Because this one is probably the best one. Remember that terrible 2009 draft? "Screw BB he could have got Clay Matthews". Well NE got the #73 pick in '09 for trading down which Jacksonville decided to trade them a 2010 2nd round pick and a 2009 7th round.

Which netted Bill Belichick

So if BB trades out of the 1st round in 3 weeks I don't want to hear your crying.

Lmao-you can try to run away from all of the sh.t you have talked about Belichick triumph but those who have been here for years are well aware of it. The Kearse catch was an absolute fluke. It came down to the last play and the play Browner made is overlooked. The 2014 NE secondary was the best in 10 years. Its not even debatable.

What's also not debatable is that the 2014 Pats let up more points in the playoffs than any of the other superbowl teams under Belichick. The only difference between 2007, 2011 and 2014 was Malcolm Butler.
