Blount Suspended for Season Opener

According to Schefter on Twitter

on EEI just now...smoking dope

This is pursuant to his arrest last year with Le'Veon Bell. So I think everyone knew it was coming before he was a Patriot this time around. Really nothing to worry about. First game is a crapshoot in a lot of ways anyway. Hopefully we get to test the wheels on whomever fills the roles of Ridley and Vereen.

What will they do with Bell then?

The NFL was basically as nice as they could be with this penalty, while still penalizing Blount. They let him play the whole season last year and only suspended him for one game this year.

If Gray can't get any carries in the opener...that will say a lot

Make it fair and open the season against Pittsburgh since Bell would probably be suspended too

Lock him up. Maybe he'll learn a thing or two. Glad NFL has their priorities in the right place. Oh wait
th

Mike Kensil has done an undercover investigation and has determined that Bell's suspension will ALSO be served by Blount since the Patriots tampered with the temperature of the urine sample....

What about the children ... :D

Well there we have it. Time to boot the Pats from the league. That's strike how many?
-Taping Rams walkthrough
-Friggin with headset signals
-Strategically placing Patriot place
-Charging too much for beer
-Spygate
-Watergate
-Deflategate
-Scoutgate, using unique draft grading system outside the spirit of the rules
-Edelman touchdown pass outside the spirit of the rules
-Inelgiblegate once again going outside the spirit of the rules.
-Blount smoking pot.
-Urinegate
-Upsetting-the-Red-Sox-gate
That's at least 13. YOU ARE OUT! The scum of the Earth truly.

Personally, I think it pretty stupid to ignore the risk to the team that drug arrests bring.

Well that's certainly a difference between buying pot and buying cocaine or heroine. Playing in the NFL alone should qualify you for medical weed.

For an NFL player to have drugs in his car, or to travel with drugs in the car, is just plain stupid.

The NFL rules are what they are. I suspect that the penalty would have been significantly higher if the drug found had been heroin.

Let's hope Blount has learned his lesson. I'm sure the next offense will not sit too well with the league or with Bill and he will be out for a while.

We all need to remember Blount was in PITTSBURGH at the time. Have you ever been to Pittsburgh? 9 out of 10 people on an extended stay develop a meth addiction, simply out of a lack of other things to do. Also, depression.

One can certainly hope.

I would prefer a 2016 plan to a hope that Blount will learn, play well this year, and re-sign in 2016.

oh well, running backs are replaceable.

belichick can find a back off the scrap heap.

What risk would that be?
