Seriously...why is it taking so long?

Another. F***ing. Week.

So what's the next theoretical date gonna be? Because this was the last weekend with a major sporting event before the draft.

I figured today was the day, hide it on Good Friday. What a screw up this is.

We have the Masters, the Kentucky Derby and the Indy 500 to look forward to or he may anounce it just before the first pick in the draft.

Maybe their hoping for someone really big to keel over and die. Like an ex-President or Elizabeth II.

Almost 3 months have passed. Ted Wells is making some serious bank on this. Going into week 11. When is Kensils contract up?

Let's step back and think about the non-stories of the dog not barking in the night.
The NFL ruled on all the team issues before than EXCEPT for 2.
Both remaining issues regard the NE Patriots.
There is some perverse linkage in what passes for the minds in the league front office between the Jets tampering charge and the shortly thereafter psi debacle.
Could it be that the league is attempting to find some way to use a faux punishment of the Pats to negate the multiple precedent of awarding swapped draft picks to a team affected by tampering?
I think the non-Patriots members of the NFL club are terrified of a Patriots org with improved draft collateral. It's bad enough that the Pats get a 3rd round comp pick. They're in a panic that as long as Brady takes the field with BB as the HC, the Pats are a serious threat to win another SB or at the very least beat a couple of them in the AFC playoffs (I'm talking about you Colts, Donks, Ravens, et.al.).

(duplicated here because I don't understand the schizoid forum policy about Dgate posts)

Invariably, when I read about punishments handed down on other teams like the Falcons, the thread gets hiijacked into a Hatriot thread outside of here. I get them really angry pointing out they don't give a damn what the other teams do, so be honest and tell us why you really hate the Patriots? Their adult answer: "Because" :p

I suppose it could be released Monday before the NCAA Championship game.

I am just gonna not think about it anymore until the report is released. This Friday was "supposed" to be the day. Oh well...Baseball season...I guess???

It's already painful enough waiting for the Wells report to drop, adding baseball season on top of it is a unique layer of hell.

No sleep until the Wells report?

I know this sounds odd but all the money that was spent, millions of salaried dollars, could have gone to inner city youth programs or something useful in life.

I'd suggest that the NFL sponsor a class in "Remedial Physics: The Response of Air (a near Ideal Gas) To Changes in Temperature". With an experimental lab segment.

It would be open to promising 11th & 12th graders, with an interest in science or engineering.

It would be REQUIRED attendance for: NFL team owners, Ted Wells, Roger Goodell, plus any sports reporter, ex-NFL player & talking head who wants to bloviate on this subject.

Thru the course of the class & the lab experiment, the 11th & 12th graders would take the hands of the "adults" & guide them thru the theory & the lab experiment. Because the children are clearly far, FAR more accomplished at this little bit of science than the "alleged adults".

How did our science education go so horribly wrong...??

Wells just announced he needs two years to finish his investigations.

seriously though I'm of two minds:
Optimist: he is getting to the bottom of the incompetent unprecedented and unethical sting operation carried out by rogue elements who have a vendetta against the Patriots. We will not only get a formal apology (especially that poor ball handler whose name was dragged through the mud because he took a piss), but the rogue elements and the leak sources will lose their jobs.

Pessimist: it will be a lazy-ass report done the night before, that does nothing to justify the time he spent writing it, and we will end up with a luke-warm piece of crap: there was something wrong, we don't know why, and the Patriots get a fine, and oh here's some more rule changes because people seem to like when we do in stories involving the Patriots.

Truth will be somewhere in the middle, most likely.

My dad's prediction was Friday or today. Came and went. Unbelievable.

I would love to know the per hour billing rate at Ted Well's firm. This has got to be just an astronomical sum. For slightly deflated footballs. If ever there was a bigger waste of money, I haven't heard of it.

The only rational explanation is that Ted Wells is knee deep in investigating league practices and institutional corruption within the league. There is no way that 3 months have been spent on allegedly deflated footballs.

Who is to say Ted Well's is even looking at this full time? Have to imagine all the interviews are done on the Patriots side. The Columbia university experts have had more than enough time to provide their input. Not sure what else they could be "investigating" at this point. I am just puzzled on why they are taking so long. Or they are trying to frame an outcome that is PR-friendly.

Oh, trust me, Ted is not looking at this full time but other associates probably are. Or they are logging in the billables even though they are not feverishly working on it every second.

Florio mentioned deflate gate today, I'm convinced Bob Kraft was the one who insisted the league hire Ted Wells in order to get a fair shake. After the mess it tuned into the Jets cronies in the head office would have to punish the Pats so they wouldn't look bad. I think the report has the ugly truth about the jokers (no offense to our Joker) in the front office and they're trying to figure out how to deal with it.
