We all know how humble Brady is. He is honored to tie Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw as one of only three quarterbacks to win that many Superbowl titles. But we also know how competitive he is. You've gotta bet that deep down in his heart, Brady wants to end his career on top. As bad as he wanted ring #4, I think he will be wanting ring #5 even more once the new season gets started.

Losing Revis and Browner is certainly a blow to our chances. But BB always has a plan to make this team competitive. We added a few pieces to our DL over the offseason, most notably Jabaal Sheard. But CB is a questionmark, unless Malcolm Butler claims a starting outside spot, and someone else takes the other. I have a feeling this year's draft will be critical.

The other factor to consider is that it is generally very hard for teams to win back to back Superbowls. When was the last time it was done? Well ironically, the last team to do it was us, when we won the Superbowl in 2003 (#38) and then in 2004 (#39). That's over 10 years ago.

Who else has done it in NFL history?
Joe Montana, 49ers (#23, #24)
Terry Bradshaw, Steelers (#9, #10, #13, #14)
Troy Aikman, Cowboys (#27, #28)
Bart Starr, Packers (#1, #2)
Bob Griese, Dolphins (#7, #8)
John Elway, Broncos (#32, #33)

It's a pretty rare feat considering the NFL has held 49 Superbowls so far and only 7 QBs and their teams have accomplished it.

So if Brady wins ring #5 in this upcoming season, not only will he take the all-time championship lead, he will also tie Terry Bradshaw for most times in winning back to back Superbowls. Whether or not it is a back to back championship, the world will be watching. Can Tom Brady win his 5th Superbowl and take the all-time lead of any QB in the history of the NFL?

I'd say better chance it doesn't than it does. Winning the fourth was extremely difficult. But Pats are still amongst the best heading into next season.

Crazy talk, but only because who puts rings on a thumb unless as a last resort?

Save that for #9 and #10.

Brady's 5th ring will simply go onto the other hand like rings should, meaning he will then be working to get another 3 after that to complete the set. :D

Absolutely, but I don't know when it will happen. Belichick has a young team in good cap shape with a ton of picks the next couple of years. They have needs but they should be able to address them, and if their younger players continue to develop they should be better than the team that just won a championship. They will continue to be in position to challenge for Lombardi's for the rest of Brady's career but winning it all also takes some breaks as well as good health for the most important players and there is just no predicting how that will go down. I think he will get at least one more but we will see?

Yes it will happen. They are a play away from being in the super bowl or winning the super bowl every year. 4 rings in 13 years starting. Nuff said.

It's very possible. One of the main reasons is bc we have no real threat in the AFC. Obviously anything can happen but I expect we return to the Super Bowl and beat whoever we find there pretty covincogly

Remember: the game against Seattle really wasn't as close as the score indicated

They were a yard away from winning it. Your statement does not compute.

Actually it makes perfect sense. What has been lost in all the " they should have run beast mode " talk is that it was the Patriots who dominated the game. Could Seattle have won it, absolutely, but the fact is the better team won the game, they didn't get lucky.

What is incredible is that if the Patriots return to the AFC Championship game next season that will be the 10th appearance in it for Brady and Belichick. That's ridiculous.

Possible.

I give him 50/50 Odds. The AFC seems weak and Luck might never be truly great. So it seems possible he makes 1-2 more SBs. The question is can we win against what will likely be stronger NFC teams?

I think there is a good chance.

If Gronk/Brady stay healthy and get the ball last they probably win. If the other team has the ball last they probably lose. That is my guess.

Did you see the 4th quarter of XLIX? The dude won't be denied!

Yes, but its gonna be much harder than #4. If we could have kept Revis and Browner + adding new talent this offseason the odds would have been great next year. Now we are in a pickle and its gonna be bigger up hill climb.

No one said anything about luck, but the Patriots didn't "dominate" the game.

Let's look at it quarter by quarter.

1st Quarter: No one scored. Pats second possession they drove down the field, but then threw an interception in the endzone. Considering none of the teams scored, then I'm giving the quarter to the team that got a turnover. Yes the Patriots drove down the field, but it was all for nothing. That's bend but don't break.

2nd Quarter: They both scored twice, commited no turnovers. It's a tie.

3rd Quarter: Seattle outscored the Pat's 10-0 and caused a turnover.

4th Quarter: Pat's score twice and cause a turnover.

So no, the Patriots didn't dominate. None of them did. It was a close, competitive game. In fact, Seattle had the upper hand going into the 4th quarter. The reason why they won is because they had an amazing 4th quarter.

What pickle? More than likely making it to a 5th straight AFC Title game?

I really think the Patriots controlled that game for 3 of the 4 quarters.

Two crazy Brady INTs (uncharacteristic), the Patriots falling asleep for 30 seconds at end of half, AND a ludicrous catch in the red zone, gave the Seahawks enough breathing room for what should have been a 10+ loss, given the way the Patriots controlled the game.

It's a shame you didn't watch the game. You really missed a great one.

Why not? This team will win the Div again this year if Brady is healthy..then once they are in..who knows..very well could.

All i wanted was 1 more for Brady and BB and i got it last year so if they don't win 1 again..i am OK with it. having just 3 would have left a sour taste in my mouth with all the other chances...this last one was so dam satisfying

If Brady wins Super Bowl 50 he will have officially won 10% of all Superbowls ever played. Including the half century one.

Think about that.

I want this. I want this sooo bad.

I think it is possible. I would be surprised if he didnt. I would say
40% 1 more
15% 2 more
5% 3 or more more

Sorry, this unintelligent response has fallen on deaf ears. If you want to bring some facts to the table then we can have a discussion.
