I had made a comment in one thread that Western Alabama now had a serious leg up in recruiting regionally. On their website on the right side under football before anything else it's Malcolm Butler.

Seriously who can blame them? Best recruiting tool they've ever had and there is no top ten it's just ten Malcolm facts.

I was thinking I wonder how this will play for the Patriots in the UDFA market? You know they'll use it in recruiting as well. Hey we give everybody a shot. Doesn't matter where you were drafted or if you were. Stephen Neal three time SB champ, Ben Jarvis Green Ellis and of course Malcolm Butler. Sure every team has a few stories but look at our consistent track record.

Most recruits have to think I have a lesser chance to make a SB champ than any other team. I think with the Pats they have to think I'll be given my best shot and even if they cut me I'll get showcased and teams will give me a shot figuring the Pats saw something.

Yeah, Mad Bill doesn't give a rat's @$$.

The day he cut Terry Glenn, I knew I had a new Hero.

I certainly don't agree with all Aspects of his Approach ~ I believe he lets Talent rot on the Bench and consequently runs his Veterans into the Dirt, blunting their Potential and shortening their Careers ~ but Mad Bill runs as close to a 100% Meritocracy as anyone out there.

It seems to me that his Commitment to the Team itself ~ even ahead of the Organization ~ is 100% Pure. He put his entire Future on the line, cutting Glenn after a 5-11 Campaign. That is far and away the most dramatic Act of Commitment I've ever seen any Coach perform for any Team.

I mean: He just blew me away with that Move.

Balls of Steel, Mad Bill.

You are The Man.

When people talk about cutting Milloy, trading Seymour, etc Glenn never seems to come up. Benching your perceived best player is a lot different when you have a single playoff win to your credit than trading Logan Mankins with 3 SB wins and 5 trips or not signing one of the leagues two to three top corners when you just won your forth.

Somehow highly underrated and somewhat forgotten.

I'm glad that Butler is having a positive effect for his former school. I'm sure he loves to giving back to his Alma Mater. He made one of the EPIC plays in Superbowl history. A play to be remembered for sure. I still get goosebumps when I think about how Butler sealed our win with that miracle INT!

Plus don't forget trading Drew Bledsoe to a team in the Division
