So, are we looking for cornerbacks?

So PJ Williams gets a DUI a month before the draft. Ouch for him. We might get him a little later now.

Given the Pats' experiences with Dennard, he might also be off the board completely.

I think the Pats are going to get a pick from the Jets.

As a reminder, the punishment in the past for tampering has not been the outright transfer of picks from tamperer to tampered, but a swap of picks (plus a forfeit of a pick by the tamperer).

Wow. He caused a serious accident that totaled the other driver's car at 2:47 am then fled the scene...but wasn't even tested for alcohol, wasn't charged with hit and run, and was just given a ticket?

Oh, to be a FSU football star.
Florida State is one of those schools I REALLY don't trust . . . and, yet, the Patriots seem to have a spring home in Tallahassee right now. All big programs can be like this but when I hear of behavioral issues at FSU I move players down more than at the average school.

Williams and Darby have both been considered 1st round talent but some off the field issues. Could this fit right into the Pats plans and get that type of talent with lower draft picks?

On tape, love Darby, not so much Williams. Would be happy if the Pats took him. Would be thrilled if that was in the 2nd round.

I know this probably wouldn't be to good character wise, but what do you guys think of taking Marcus peters with the first pick than taking pj Williams, eric rowe,or Ronald Darby later on in the draft. I think that would give us two physical corners that can develope together in the secondary.

I would rather have Marcus Peters and Ronald Darby!!!!

One more interesting name for you at CB and it's another Kansas guy (regulars will know of my interest in three other Kansas defenders in this draft):

Dexter McDonald, CB, Kansas
6-1, 20olbs

40 - 4.37
VJ - 40.5"
BJ - 11'2"
3cone - 4.35
Shuttle - 6.96

As You can see, he's right up there athletically with the very best.

And for those of you who love a press corner:

NFL.com

STRENGTHS
Outstanding size and length for the position. Has athleticism to open hips and run from press coverage with stride and recovery speed to make up ground quickly. Play strength off of snap a plus. Can be very disruptive with his jam. Does most of his work from press but sifts through and digests combo routes with awareness. Aggressive hands to disrupt the catch. Had 15 passes defensed this season. Shows desired foot quickness and transition potential for a big corner.

And you can see him go up against Kevin White in the below video - McDonald is #12 and always plays LCB (from defensive viewpoint). He covers White well - 1 completion given up despite having tight coverage and three passes defended.

Kansas have two CBs with good size that have a real knack for getting their hands on the ball.

Just seen that Dexter McDonald had 15 PBUs last season. Might just be a serious sleeper pick.

Charlie Weis connection inc?

BB will certainly be given any relevant info. I hoping for a 'Rutgers' year. I'd be happy with all four of those Kansas late-rounders.
