Greatest Game of All Time poll @ NFL.com

I had considered mentioning the 3 road PO wins of the '85 Pats, especially when considering the opposition: Jesters, Raiduhs & Doofins, the 3 teams we would've enjoyed beating the most. (Does anyone else remember the downtown Jordan Marsh, on the ground floor in the Men's section of which the 3 PO wins were constantly shown on a TV installed during the run-up to the SB?)

And you're right that the home PO win in '96 v PitsDirt was historic: first home PO game since 1978,
first home PO win…ever?

That was a great game ... and one heck of a roster ... Bledsoe, Glenn (90 catch rookie season), Curtis, Shawn J, Megget, Byars ... Coates ... SB 31 - Kick away from Howard and the outcome could have been a lot different.

The Pats should win easy with SB XLIX. There's not much of a comparison really. The Pats beat the best defense in years and they scored more points than Pittsburgh did against a 9-7 Cards team.

If the Pats had a coach that didn't have one foot out the door the outcome could have been very different.

Amazing that they were in the game for as long as they were. Definitely closer than the score indicated.

The whole city of Boston was placed on suicide watch after Kearse caught that ball :-(
I would widen that area to at least the geographical region of the area the team is named for. I was sitting in my bathroom with my hands in my face and the light off when my wife and kids were screaming that it just got intercepted. Thank god for modern technology and the ability to DVR games, because I stood in front of the TV and replayed the interception 10 times before I finally believed it.

How on earth did the Steelers/Cardinals game end up in the finals? I can literally think of dozens of game that were better.

Simple really, when you have an organization that has won six rings you build up a large obnoxious band wagon fan base. This is a popularity contest nothing more and the Steelers have a large national fan base. The one today's Steeler fans were alive to see naturally gets the votes.

going to be hard pressed for a game to beat last years superbowl. it had everything, come backs by both teams, huge magical moments, last second heroics.

heart break, triumph.

best game ever.
and ppl have bad memories.

That user interface sucks....It starts by default on the steelers game, and then if you click on the 'vote' button it votes for that one. That is the only reason that game is tied with ours.

I was confused and thought I clicked on the vote button to be given the two options in a kind of radio button menu that would pop up. Luckily I had already selected the patriots, as the ui smelled funny.

Don't click anything until you've clicked on the patriots game and are watching it...Yes, I realize that is logically impossible. :)

The UI is terrible, I agree.

The bracket method has failed us all if that Steelers-Cardinals game made it to the championship round. It was a great game, but not one of the best games of all-time.

A different one of the two teams has come up first all the times I've voted. So, I think it's random.

I know that because, if you hadn't noticed, you can vote more than once. I think everyone on this Board knows what that means they should do! ;)

Actually the 2009 Colts were undefeated after fourteen games, but, as many Patriot fans will remember, they decided to keep Manning on the bench against the Jets, thus throwing the game and letting the pathetic Jets sneak into the playoffs at 9-7. Had the Colts played to win, they likely would have defeated the Jets and Bills and finished at 16-0.

But they didn't, they were gutless and benched players.. and then went 1 and done because they're a spineless team that lacks physical and mental toughness.. and why nobody will remember that 2009 team any more than they remember the Panthers, vikings, Steelers or whoever in some random year.

you can't say they would have gone 16-0, that's giving them credit for something they didn't have the balls to attempt and therefor should not be recognized or patted on the back for "almost" going 16-0.

The Steelers came close one year with a 15-1 record

If you take out context, I think the divisional round this year with Baltimore might have been the best game I've ever seen. It's not a super bowl so it won't get that type of love, but holy ****.

Hehe maybe in hindsight.. but that game was incredibly brutal emotionally to live through as a fan!

I dunno... I still remember "Picked off... look out! Gets past Manning and it's Tracy Porter taking it all the way!" :)

I agree though. that's why that 16-0 banner to me is a badge of honor not something to be embarrassed about. This is nothing like those silly AFC Finalist banners in Indy.

The Pats had the onions to go for it. They earned 16-0. They held off all comers. Especially an equally ballsy Giants team in week 17. Obviously the more important Giants game didn't end well but still - there's a good reason why only 1 team in history went 16-0.

That makes it easier to create a macro to auto vote for the Steelers repeatedly too since it defaults to them. These polls are fun and all, but they aren't to be taken seriously.

Any poll that allows you to vote repeatedly is incredibly flawed from the get go

Good point now that you mention it, every new browser it seems to start with a random one pre-selected. ....Still not a good design....Should have a clear radio button type GUI to vote.

Obviously this isn't a scientific poll, in pretty much every way you slice it, it is not scientific. :)

Also worth pointing out - they aren't going to let us know who is leading - naturally they are saving that for their airing.

actually, I voted and reloaded and voted again several times.......don't know if they all counted, but the games would be on different sides each time

"Incredibly flawed?" Maybe. But, so was John Harbaugh's intelligence, and that didn't stop BB from taking advantage of it.
Vote early. Vote often.
And, if we're too dumb to figure out which team we're voting for, then we don't deserve to win. :)
