Ridley visiting the Fins ... and Jets

Wouldn't be a bad spot for him to take a one year deal and showcase himself.

I wish we could get him on a one year deal. I don't know if the Pats have really talked to him or what he wants but if he comes back from that ACL, he is better than anyone in our RB stable. Best of luck to him wherever he goes.

Hate to see him go to an A.F.C. EAST rival. With our luck he'll have a breakout game against the Patriots

If he doesn't come back, he would do well to consider the Cowboys. If that line holds up, then he could put up some impressive numbers in support of a future deal.

Concur. He'd be a good fit with Dallas. I'm surprised that Oakland hasn't come calling, either.

Don't want to see him playing for one of our foes. Was hoping we could re-sign him and let him compete for a spot, but wouldn't be upset seeing him play for the Cowboys or another NFC team.

I want BB to roll the dice with Larget Blont, Gaffney and a draft choice, plenty o depth in this next draft at the RB position, time to move on, Ridley was solid but nothing spectacular at all.

Ridley in Dallas would be amazing for him. Just please, leave the AFC East.

I also kinda wonder if we'll bring in Moreno. Joshy drafted him didn't he? And Bill loves players that perform well against us...

Ridley had his moments but I am not going to miss him whatsoever. He barely improved since his rookie year. Still wasn't part of the passing game/screen plays and barely broke tackles or had many long runs. I see him as an effective short yardage back who seems like it would be in his best interest to start somewhere new.

It's definitely not a "bad" spot in my opinion, but it should be noted that Lamar Miller averaged a whopping 5.1 YPC, had 1,100 yards on the ground, and had 8 TDs on the year. His last 2 games when they finally gave him close to 20 carries (19 apiece, I believe) saw rushing totals of 92 and 178 yds.

To take it one step further, he caught almost 40 balls out of the backfield, so he's certainly on his way to being a viable "dual threat."

It seems as though they aren't all in on just having Miller however, which is certainly understandable. I do think that Miller and Ridley would make a fine enough 2 back tandem to be moderately competitive, I'm just not sure that he's going to have the opportunity that he'd like no matter where he ends up.

I don't know...I can appreciate both sides of the debate.

When they allowed Ridley to be a true bellcow back with 290 carries, he produced at a fine level, having almost 1300 yds and 12 TDs.

The next year was back to more of the RBBC system, although part of the reasoning could be attributed to Ridley's fumbling where he missed out on some carries due to his own doing. Either way, he was down from 290 carries to 178 carries, but it should be noted that he kept the same YPC average (4.4 vs. 4.3), so he would've been on the exact same pace for both rushing totals and TDs.

He still had 19 touchdowns in the two prior years to his poorer showing in 2014 (behind a truly piss-poor OL in the first 4-5 games of the season, as I believe he became injured in the opening quarter of the sixth game), so I think he could still be had at quite a bargain and produce nicely in 2015. The main question in my mind, is where he'll have the best opportunity. I don't know if anyone is going to give him any more carries than we would here if he stayed.

Ridley is the most talented runner on our roster since Corey Dillon, if he doesn't come back I wish him well, as he also seems like a great human being.

He has vision, balance, and speed to the hole, he rarely makes the wrong decision. His only issue ever has been fumbles and BB's lac of belief in a Bellcow since Dillon.

1.) I'd love him back

2.) If we can't get him back I hope he goes to Dallas or somewhere far away from the division who will use him like a true #1 back and not in a RBBC.

3.) We definitely used him wrong, he's a bellcow back. He proved it to us back in 2012. In 2011 and 2013 we benched him for fumbles and in 2014 he played behind the worst OL in recent history for us.

He's a kid who says everything right, plays hard, and has top 5 RB talent potential. I definitely hope he gets a chance somewhere, if we didn't have Blount he'd be the undisputed #1 like in 2012 and put up 1200 again, but because we have Blount he'll never be a true #1 here.

GL, Rid.

that is pretty cool .. best of luck to him .. But some are forgetting we have Walter Payton II in Jonas Gray ..

I'll miss Ridley. He always played hard and was more productive than many believe. I'll always remember and be impressed with the way he always took responsibility for his mistakes, never tried to minimize his culpability and never claimed he was being scapegoated. That stands in stark contrast to many, many of today's pro athletes. Good luck to him wherever he goes, as long as it's not against us.

Dynamic explosive runner who was good for 1-2 fumbles per game it seemed. 150 yards of rushing per game goes down the tubes if you let your team down with TOs and flip the field for the opposition.

He's visiting the Jets today.

LeGarrette Blount (once every 62.53 touches) actually has a higher fumbling rate than Stevan Ridley (once per 66.36 touches). That said, Blount has proven to be much more dependable here in N.England in terms of fumbling, although the production isn't nearly as good. He's obviously serviceable, but I don't think Blount excels at some of the things that Ridley does.

I'd be happy with getting Ridley back for one last year at a relatively cheaper price. I think it'd be good value. Either way, he's either gone now or gone next spring.
