Do you have a link/quote for that? I find it interesting they felt that way.

Here is the quote from Reiss' chat on 3/26 (with question):

Bill (NYC)
Mike, do you think there is any chance that the league would have outlawed the ineligible/eligible plays if Peyton Manning, Sean Payton, Chip Kelly, Andy Reid, or some other offensive 'genius' had used it. That person would be celebrated as innovative, but because the league is jealous of the pats success, they try to penalize them at every turn. That is why I feel there is no way that the league does not come down very hard on the pats for deflategate, no matter what the actual facts are.

No, I don't, Bill. I very much felt an anti-Patriots slant to these meetings, more from several of the teams themselves. Everyone's pretty much jealous, it's a highly competitive environment, and you see that sort of manifest itself in these settings when everyone is together. It's a dynamic like no other -- technically these 32 teams are partners, but the way they act around each other at times is middle-school level stuff.

Here is something related from the MMQBs Robert Klemko at the Combine:

It's sad that so many in the NFL are so blinded by jealousy that they despise greatness that will never be seen again. Those jealous dbags don't deserve to be on the same field as B effin B.

I actually like all these accusations. I love seeing BB get pissed. I'd rather they not like us. That means we suck.

Wow! Just WOW!
I never realized it was THAT bad.

The world really spins when I realize that I, not Joker, am the one out of touch with reality.

we're all bozos on this bus, PWP...the hilarious thing is the absolute pettiness so-called "leaders of men" such as Whiner Harbaugh will stoop to, trying to deflect THEIR own gross incompetence. This is what scumbags like Kensil and Goodell bank on, the mindless mob mentality.Makes their hidden agenda practically invisible.

That Reiss chat was a real eye-opener. I missed it initially, glad I got to see it.

HA. What matters is that many of the players who come here and play with the Pats totally buy in to Belichick and the system despite any negative preconceptions they may have of the guy. Plus I'm sure a number of the haters grudgingly respect Belichick's football prowess.

Go to Reiss on ESPN Boston and Curran on csnne.com. Sorry, I don't provide links. Too lazy and I feel those who ask the inevitable "Link please?" are just a touch lazier than I am. Not you, personally, but people in general. Anyway, use Google and key words and you'll find the stuff. Trust me, it's there.

I'd like to believe that the majority of people, as with any other topic, don't have an irrational hatred for the Patriots. It's just a vocal minority that gets more attention than they deserve. When you read Reiss' opinion on what he sees from other teams or Klemko adding the media to that group and you have to wonder. I can understand that attitude to a degree from the other teams. They are competing with the Patriots, so there is going to be some ill-feelings when New England never seems to falter. Regarding the media, some Patriots fans (including myself) have rabbit ears about articles or comments about the team, but Klemko's claim verifies there is something there.

For example, in back to back weeks during the 2013 season, the Patriots beat the Saints on the last play and then lost to the Jets the next week on a FG in OT. After the Saints game, Albert Breer tweeted a picture that appeared to show holding by Solder on the TD pass to Kenbrell Thompkins. Maybe it was holding, maybe it wasn't, but I can't point to many other examples of Breer similar examples of potentially missed calls in other games. In the Jets game, their game-winning FG only came after the 2nd level pushing penalty on the Patriots. I remember articles after the game claiming the Patriots cheated by committing that penalty and how they were trying to circumvent the rules. It was a penalty. Those are called in every game without anyone in the media celebrating them. (I'm not going to get into the fact that that penalty has only been called once, ever. I can't imagine the reaction if the Patriots were the beneficiary in that situation.)

I was reading the comments on a Deadspin article about the impending punishments for the Browns and Falcons the other day. There were a lot of obvious jokes, like "I thought being the Browns was punishment" but there was also a decent amount of "Meanwhile, the Patriots skate on everything" and "Goodell is just doing what Kraft tells him" comments. What exactly are the Patriots skating on? What special treatment have they received. If they run a trick play in January, the league bans it by March. If there is a question from one of their games that results in an investigation, it leads the national news. Polian was on ESPN talking about the potential violations for Cleveland, Atlanta and New England and stated that the football PSI issue was the most serious of the three. The fact that it was the only one of the three that can be explained by the laws of physics went unmentioned.

The thing I can't believe is that all these teams that are waiting for the Patriots to slip back to mediocrity don't realize that whoever takes their place near the top will get the same scrutiny. Everyone wants to win, but I don't think everyone is prepared for the BS that goes with it.

Klemko is a liar. Hit a cabbie and stole a cab; mf was lucky he wasn't offed.

Ask Ozzie how much he "hates" BB and the Patriots. Or Chip Kelly. Or Pete Carroll.
Yeah, it's everybody.
