Have any of you ever heard of Occam's Razor
Yes, and unlike you, long before the sitcom the Big Bang Theory came out. I can't help but laugh at all the people who now throw that term around when trying to look smart.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever been charged with sexual assault?

Fair enough, but I don't think the NFL can afford to exonerate the Patriots completely, as much as I would like to see that happen. I just wouldn't count on it. I think no matter what, the NFL wants to come across as being "fair" and "tough", and if the evidence shows that no deliberate tampering occurred, then I can still see a response that involves a fine or a penalty, for not taking the steps necessary to ensure footballs are properly maintained according to regulation. That wouldn't necessarily make us cheaters, just maybe perhaps a little negligent.
.

Think this through and tell me how the Patriots within NFL regulations could have taken NECESSARY steps to see that the footballs were "maintained"?
Are you aware that they are not allowed to do anything with the balls after the refs accept them except transport them to the field? The field where the laws of physics rule,
I'm gobsmacked that after 400 posts explaining the impossibility of conforming to NFL regs as written some folks obtusely insist that the Pats are guilty of negligence or some undefined infraction.

Are all Pat fans this kind of clueless homers?

The endless conspiracy theories. The absurd claims that weather makes air disappear. You all sound like teen age love struck girls, making excuses for a boyfriends bad behavior.

This is the furthest I can get. This dumbass really just called the laws of physics a conspiracy theory. Is that what they teach at schools in New Jersey? I'm sure they also teach that earth (New Jersey more specifically) is the center of the universe (which consists of just the solar system). I'll wait for your reply when you're done eating rocks.

The regulation has to be amended to read a certain psi range at room temperature.

Fair enough. We'll have to see what the verdict is. Wish it didn't take so dang long. ARGGHHH!!!!!!!!

I dont buy Mr. RLCarr's interpretation of the rule but i think he and Reiss are likely right that the NFL probably wont go through this giant 3 month dog and pony show just to completely exonerate the Pats.

I don't think the media will go nuts if the Pats don't get punished. Look at most of the media's tone about the Jet's frivolous Tampering charge. There appears to have been a short term shift in the media perception of the "cheatriots!" and the NFL is being perceived as totally incompetent. When Kensil is fired the media won't balk at the Pats not being punished.

Kensil will never be fired. His father used to be pete rozelle's right-hand man. his family ties to the league office ensures he will stay there. I think you need to bring more diversity to the league office though. More people from every state in the country that has an NFL franchise. Too many new yorkers there.

Speaking of bill cosby and justice... :D

Ya I know. Irony alert. If the allegations are true he's an odious excuse for a human being. But his old joke fit this situation. :)

One reason for the time delay may be that Wells is working on a lot of other cases.

This report has become the new "free beer tomorrow."

Fact: the Patriots are the only NFL team who have been docked two first round draft picks for breaking the rules.

Fact: the Patriots have been fined more than any other NFL team for breaking the rules.

Fact: the Patriots have prompted more rule changes, to close grey area loopholes than any other NFL team. Just this year there were two. The NFL needs a spotter now because the Pats didn't pull Edelman after everyone in the world knew he was concussed? Oh right he "passed" the concussion test. Yet they will dump him in a heartbeat next year when he is no longer useful. It's the Patriot way.

Fact: the Patriots are the only NFL team to have a player commit multiple murders while on the active roster.

And what are your usual retorts? Haters gonna hate. Sour grapes. Kensil is out to get the Pats. Goodell hates the Pats. The Ravens are whiners, it's Irsay's pill addiction. The Jets are rats. Everyone does it. BB is just smarter than everyone else.

Okay ban me now for trolling.

Actually you will be bsnned for being a ******.

The delay might be coming from our globe trotting QB

Naw, the investigation has likely been finished for weeks. Behind the scenes deal-making, waiting on the outcomes of other investigations and releasing it at a time when it is most likely to get burried before Monday are the most likely causes for the delay.

Here's my take on how Goodell can have his cake and eat it too. This makes the unwarranted assumption that there are folks in the NFL front office with 3 digits in their IQ who can create this canard.

<Intro. Self serving platitudes. Thoroughness of the investigation. Integrity of game>

In conclusion we can find no direct evidence that the NEP tampered with the game balls. We do recognize that the laws of physics dictate some loss of psi from a drop in temperature. However, there was one occasion where a Patriots employee had possession of the balls away from the cameras. (Some geezer like Ken receiving prostate pressure. But I digress...) Since our league representative on the sideline verified that one ball was inexplicably low, the only reasonable (sic) conclusion is that the NEP are responsible for mis-handling of equipment and we fine them $50,000. They are on notice that no further deceptive practices regarding game equipment will be tolerated. Harsh punishment will accompany any future infraction.

<Thanks to teams for cooperation. Self serving platitudes. New ball rules to follow. Integrity of game>

The loophole of the old coot relieving himself while in possession of the balls is the out Goodell will exploit.

The much longer period of the ball in question being in possession of various Colts will be overlooked.

There you have it folks.

In before PC police rant about the term ******! I was bsnned once. It hurt like the ****ens.

Not real worried about it, the paranoia in this forum had made it really difficult to be around anyways. Rather than make sensible arguments everything has been reduced to ". But but but Goodell......"

I think Gödel's comments about the league handling things "incorrectly" was the precursor to the league actually acknowledging that this entire issue was mishandled. I don't believe the Patriots did anything that was in any way outside of league protocols and don't think they can be fined for anything related to the idiotic deflategate matter. If They fine the Patriots and c Kraft takes it then it's probably time to say f.ck football and watch championship wrestling instead, it has more integrity.

I recognize 'bartscott's writing style from other message boards.

Using a list of the word "fact", each followed by an obvious non-fact is a dead give away

He's a 73 year old jet fan who has spent the last 20 years trolling and getting banned from message boards

He's harmless

Ever seen a Jets game at the old Meadowlands? The vast majority of them are far from harmless.
