Teams like NE and SEA are hugging the cap but with quality players because they aren't paying their QB's in the "elite" market, GB, DAL, BAL, etc. None of these teams will compete while paying their QB's because they lack the surrounding team talent.

SEA will soon fall to this.

NE will continue to be the most successful team, maybe ever, even after Brady is gone because our replacement won't be making money either. BB will continue to add talent at every position that is considered "mediocre", yet because EVERY position has that type of talent or better we'll continue to win.

From what I can tell, no QB has EVER won the superbowl with a cap hit higher than 15m, with Tom Brady being the highest ever at 14.8, which is a "low quality franchise QB" type salary.

Brady isn't going to get another big money contract at his age and considering his past, he probably wouldn't take market value either. Our replacement certainly won't be making 20m/yr right out of the gate. We're in a special territory.
huh? Green Bay and Baltimore were very very very close to being in the SB.

Raiders released defensive lineman Antonio Smith today.

He'd be a good fit here.

Miami Dolphins have signed QB Josh Freeman.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/04/02/dolphins-sign-josh-freeman/

The 2009 first round pick was cut by the Bucs in 2013, and then was picked up by Minnesota. He was named starter and threw 33 incomplete passes, averaging a net of 3.26 yards per pass attempt. Freeman never got on the field again, and was signed and cut by the Giants in last year's off season.

Year 2 is bad but the other years are pretty reasonable. year 4 and 5 could even be steals.

I doubt he plays on this contract past year 2, unless he gets hurt or under performs, thus lowering his market value to those numbers. He's not likely to play for less than his full market value again.

@BWilliamsonESPN: From @caplannfl and myself, #Raiders expected to sign Michael Crabtree as soon as tonight.

TE/FB James Casey signs with Donkeys, reunites with Kubiak.
Was hoping Pats would sign him; I thought then and still do, that he could've made a nice chess piece for TFB.

Wisnewski to the Jags on a 1 yr deal, per Schefter.

Jags potentially making a move this year?

Sorry, fantasizing about a scenario in which the Texans improve under BOB, Jags take a step forward, and Titans drastically improve by trading for Rivers, leaving the Colts in last place in their division... #1sttoworst

And give them an extremely early draft pick ? Nah.. As much satisfaction seeing the Colts falling apart would give me, I prefer them being stuck in eternal mediocracy once the new Luck contract kicks in.

Count me in with those who wanted to see Wisniewski signed here. I liked his talent and versatility.

Like @ashley1992 said, we'll all be curious to see what the deal was.
