Hightower out 6-7 months

We Knew he would he out until TC or the start of season. That's why it's stupid to trade mayo and not address the lb core. Yet some think we need to trade mayo

What we need is a healthy Mayo.

We played much of the early 2014 season with two healthy linebackers, counting on Practice Squad players Skinner and Fleming (who we still have along with Freeny). We use three linebackers less than 1/3 of the time.

Blelichick may address this position, or not. I think that the key is health of Mayo.

He played through a lot. Heck of a player and warrior... glad the team made the journey worth it.

Luckily, we'll get more information about his injury status during Belichick's next press conference. Maybe BB will clarify if the 6-7 months is from today or from the surgery date. I heard he is preparing a slide show for the media that details the injury and recovery process.

6-7 months since his surgery is an August to September time frame for his return.

Meh, just go see Ray Rays doctor and get some of that Deer Antler Spray. Hightower will be ready for OTAs. Book it.

Let's just hope his shoulder isn't counting forward from today.

Got to hand it to Hightower, he was a warrior for the team this year. I hope his recovery goes well.

I think after June the Comp picks are no longer affected? If so, we may be waiting until then to sign Dane Fletcher back to the Pats. I, also, would not count out a LB trade or a draft pick. However, the simplest answer is Fletcher, who is available, inexpensive and knows the system. I'm not sure why Tampa hasn't resigned him.

he can play one armed right?

I've got a torn labrum right now and I don't need 6-7 months to go back to work. He needs to man up.

And, a physical therapist at my gym said that I'd be able to "get right back out there and do a tri" just 4 months from the surgery. That is some amazing surgery. I couldn't "do a tri" without the surgery even with a year's training. I'm going to have it twice to see what that'll do for me.

Does your work involve regular and repeated physical contact with well conditioned athletes weighing 250-300 pounds every weekend?

The problem with Average Joe is he rarely understands that full recoveries recommended by surgeons differ for the average bear opposed to elite athletes. The physical requirements demand it.

When I first heard the news ... I knew that was very optimistic ... torn labruns are anywhere from 6-12 months and more. Mine took 2 years to feel right and I'm not an athlete. He'll join us at week 6 is my guess. The surgery is pretty cool ... there are YouTubes of it ... the problem however is that the area is a low blood flow area ... which is why they cannot heal on their own too well and why recovery takes time.
