Cost of chasing the Patriots: Jets, Bills and Dolphins have spent nearly a quarter of a billion in gtd money ($245M), per @ESPNStatsInfo.

That quarter of a billion will keep these teams from being able to be competitive in the long run.

Jimmy G, our quality at the bottom 53 of the roster and that this team manages the cap like no other.

Jimmy G is NOT at the bottom of our 53 man roster. Twenty players currently have a lower 2015 cap hit.

why will we continue to dominate the east?

They should just rename the division to the Brady-Belichick Division.

Why? because BB

The Pats have taken a slight step back for sure. We'll see how big. I'm not sure the Bills and Dolphins even improved. The JETS have improved the most. Analysts just discuss acquisitions and don't go over losses too often.

Buffalo - Lost their QB. I'd say that's pretty important. Orton was decent last year and they lost Spiller too. Are Cassel/McCoy better than Orton/Spiller? I say no. Clay a slight upgrade over Chandler. So, Percy Harvin is gong to improve that offense? Good luck with that. He'll be thrilled with their qb play. I feel Rex is a downgrade from Marrone too. Buffalo kicked his sorry arse 2x last year. And, now they hire him?? I don't get it.

Miami- Oh, they signed Suh!! Lost Hartline and Wallace. Added Stills. Is that an upgrade? Nope. They better hope Jordan Cameron stays healthy at TE. Because, he's no better than Clay. Lost Knoshown. Who killed us in Week 1. Again, where's the improvement on offense? Suh is an elite player. But, Jared Odrick wasn't chopped liver. Had to include Ellerbe in Wallace trade too because of cap. I'll give them an upgrade for sure. We'll see how big on the field. They look the same to me. 8-8.

NY Jets - Added two really good players at a position they sucked. Revis and Cromartie. One word of caution. Getting the gang together 5 years later isn't always the best way to rebuild. But, really nowhere to go but up. So, an improvement on defense. They did have Percy Harvin and Chris Johnson when we played them in Week 16. Lost them and added Brandon Marshall. I'll give em a slight upgrade on a horrific offense because Fitzy is an improvement at qb. But, they're a 6-8 win team.

Looks like it's the Pat's division to lose again......

So much talk for a thread where you only need to say "We have Brady and their QBs stink".

Jimmy G can hopefully continue that.

I do honestly think Miami & NYJ improved and the Bills will be about the same.

BUFFALO
I think that your hate of Rex is rubbing off. I do think that Cassell/McCoy is an upgrade over Orton/Spiller. They have a fine defense, and a solid defensive coach. IMHO, Buffalo has improved. They still need a quarterback for the future.

MIAMI
I haven't a clue. IMHO, everything depends on Tannehill.

NEW JERSEY
They had the furthest to go. They have clearly had a major upgrade at their weakest position, adding Revis and Cromartie. Corner will be a major strength. Marshall is a major pickup. But they still aren't a competitor.

BOTTOM LINE
As last year, I see Buffalo and Miami as potentially fighting for a playoff spot. Unlike you, I see Buffalo as a potentially very strong team.

I 100% believe it's more than that. Having the GOAT QB cannot be understated but it's not like we are in the SB every year (only half of the time :p)

They manage their cap so well and spend more time trying to find quality in the bottom 53 than any other team in this division. Nobody makes more midseason changes to try to fine tune the roster.

I'm not selling Tom short but to just say "We've got Brady that's why" really undercuts the superior job the Patriots do roster building.

Despite winning the sb they only win because their division sucks amirite?

The patriots were a great team because they beat lots and lots of good teams down the stretch, none of which are in the AFCE.

The division did indeed suck. The patriots were indeed 95% favorites to win the division. HOWEVER, the patriots were not a great team because of the weakness in the division.

Well it of course is not just Brady. Also I am not sure if the humor in my comment came out. Rereading it it seemed kind of snide which not how I hope you took it. It was meant to be a playful jest. :p

Honestly though I am starting to feel a little bad for the rest of the AFCE (Jets aside). We are like Lucy that invites Charlie Brown to kick a FG but pulls it away at the last second every year.

Wow, calm down dude, you don't need to be a **** about it! Sheesh, some people.

Buffalo went backward in coaching. That is pretty obvious.

Me thinks you quit watching Matt Cassel in 2010. Look what he's done the last 4 years. He's 9-17 with 29 td's and 34 int's. And a passer rating about 74. Orton was 7-5 last year with a 87.8 qb rating with 18td's and 10 int's.
