Well he's no secret you all heard about his trail blazing pro day the seems to have all the tools and correctable flaws. Most would say BB wouldn't Draft a WR in the First but this guy is looking like safe pick with great upside. CB is a definite need but their is Great dept a the position WR too for that matter dept wise. That said the Patriots going after Stevie Johnson tells me that they view the position as a Need contrary to popular opinion. We know Edelman and LaFell are locks but I dont think anyone else is including Amendola. Yeah they are growing pains with young WR's but we saw what the Draft class did last year most of them were pro ready. This current class is not a Big Drop off from last years might be a notch below with says something. Imagine a young buck with Edelman an LaFell and I don't mean Dobson. Again with the Patriots going after Stevie Johnson it tells me they are not confident with what they have after WR#1 and 2. I think WR is back on the menu boys.

1. I don't think WR in the 1st has ever been on the menu.

2. Perriman has a 14% drop rate. Way too high for BB. Ethan Hammerman has noted that his worst games came in cold weather conditions.

3. As Patchick notes, Perrimian's route running skills are raw at best.

I can't see it, personally.

Plus Amendola is a Lock.. Would cost Patriots more to cut him so...

I remember Terry Glenn's Rookie season when he finally got on the field he was a beast Glenn was the last First Round WR selected by the Patriots I think we are due. Its not set in stone that the Patriots WOULD NEVER Draft a WR in the First. And my thought process is based on them going after Stevie Johnson none of us saw that coming. But now it makes sense what the heck do we have after Edelman and LaFell at WR Absolutely NOTHING!

Money has never been a Issue for BB if a guy under performs he's not afraid to cut his loses.

And I think Patriots gonna go 2 or evn 3 TEs this year. Most of the teams Patriots gonna face have a beasty DL - You counter that with going big on OL / TE. Wouldn't be surpriced to see Gronk and Chandler playing 90% of the snaps, so rarely are Patriots gonna need more then 2 WRs ( Edelman + Lafell )

I'd love to add a WR, but I don't see good value at #32. (IMO Perriman, for all his physical gifts, has an exceptionally high bust potential.)

There should be some good talent available later -- e.g. McBride, Bell, Conley & Waller in the middle rounds.

Another question. If you remove Amendola WHO are backup to Edelman then?

Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Brandon LaFell, Scott Chandler, Tim Wright, Danny Amendola. That's a fair number of receiving options. Then Dobson, Boyce, Gibson and others fighting for playing time. I don't see the room for a rookie WR to get a ton of snaps.

I also think DeAndre Smelter >> Breshad Perriman. And he'll probably go 200 picks later. Give Smelter a redshirt year and then see how the roster shapes up for 2016.

Good info mayo and thats why I said his flaws are correctable a guy like Perriman can get by on athletic ability alone early on.

I can't resist Perrimans measurables. He's my annual WR binky.

Good prospects I agree, I will just say Breshad Perriman is my Draft binkie.

If you're going for measurables, why not Chris Conley instead? He's exactly the same size, put up far better explosion numbers, and drops almost as many passes. ;)

No one should be denied their binky. I would just caution being smitten by a 40 time, if he wasn't your binky before yesterday. As Dane Brugler noted:
I gave Breshad Perriman an early 2nd rnd grade based off film study. But after today's 40-yard dash? I'm giving him a...early 2nd rnd grade

Most people expected Perriman to run fast. He did that yesterday, and then some, but that box had already been checked off. FWIW, the Pats already have a 6'3" 210# WR who ran a 4.37 40.

Conley has some real upside. He will likely go about 100-150 picks after Perriman.

FWIW Greg Cossel thought Perriman was a first rounder before his 40. Says his physical traits remind him of Julio Jones.
I personally think WR is very low on the Pats list of needs. I'm also not sure if Brady's strength is throwing the long ball but if he's the BPA then maybe it's a possibility.

Love thy binkie but if the Patriots pick a WR in round 1 I will puke... I mean puke harder than I usually do when the trade back and confuse me...

What do most NFL teams have after their 1-2 WR, generally not much.
