No way they accept that, despite no evidence of wrong doing by anyone. If they are fined, they need to appeal it immediately and continuously - then demand that the referees test every ball with gauges in front of the cameras before every game or the Patriots don't play.

It's enough of this BS. The league has slightly less credibility than Putin investigating the murder of yet another opponent.

RC I saw this other day and thought same, Kraft should not back down and not give into anything without smoking gun facts. It's BS and lets see if all teams appreciate Ravens, Colts exposure of PSIs with QB like Rodgers not bein able to inflate more and put pressure on Refs to check balls every/all game. We all know what Brady can do with an Official Football, just ask Seahawks.

A fine, or any punishment of any kind, would not only be absolutely unacceptable but completely unjust. There is literally no evidence supporting the allegations against the Patriots. On the contrary, there is TONS of not only circumstantial evidence but SOLID OBJECTIVE SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE that the Patriots did nothing wrong and that all the allegations leveled against the team were not merely baseless but slanderous. Ever since the day Bill Belichick had his famous My Cousin Vinny press conference every single piece of information has supported the Patriots cause. Every. Single One. And any time some report comes out that tries to paint the Pats in a guilty light a day later its shown to be completely wrong. (The whole charity ball debacle.)

I normally like Mike Reiss but he is so completely off base here it's maddening. The people who think that "oh they'll just be fined a token amount and that will be the end of it" are frankly ******ed. Way to miss the big picture! That would forever give confirmation to every single hater and slander and even the most casual fan that "oh the Pats cheated again." That would trash the reputation of this organization beyond all repair. And it will vindicate everything the Colts and Mike Kensil have done in their coordinated effort to ruin the Patriots. F**k them all. This is beyond absurd.

I f**king hate this league so much and I almost wish I could be less invested in this sport.

I can't see the team accepting any punishment. Not after when the owner went to bat for his team to defend its image and integrity during super bowl week. Like Kraft said, if there is no smoking gun, there better be an apology coming to the team.

I can see the nfl finding the pats did nothing and still fineing them

It's ********, but this stuff about them "not accepting the fine" etc is merely fan boy talk. They have no choice in the matter. They'll have to accept whatever punishment is imposed, especially since any appeal would revert straight back to Goodell (team/organizational related matter).

We can go back and forth for 60+ pages (and there are many here who would actually do that) about how lousy it is, but we've all known the whole time that:

1) Goodell is in charge--and he is not fair

2) They have some circumstantial evidence such as the fact that the balls were underinflated, the locker room attendant chose the inopportune time to use the restroom with a bag full of balls, etc

I missed the part where the team has the choice to "accept" their punishment ;)

By the way--all appeals would simply revert ball to Goodell since they are team related. The appeals which were overturned by a third party in the Saints matter was due to being individually related. At least that's what I've read several times throughout this nightmare.

Deflate issue just makes me sad and angry. You have a league that is booming DESPITE its administration. All empires fall, especially those that are mismanaged.

If there is in fact a fine, but no pick taken, I will be sad. In the event the Patriots actually lose a pick (without a smoking gun, as Kraft stated) I will be even more angry.

Like me some Reiss, but he better be wrong here.

Goodell is currently in charge. He actually works for the owners, not the other way around.

I actually like Reiss and enjoy reading his publications but his being correct rate is south of 20%.

You are correct. Rather than making business better, Goodell happens to rein during a booming time for the game and is killing the golden goose.

Prior to these most recent NFL meetings always believed that Bob Kraft was a "powerful" owner, no longer believe that ... as that no longer is a factor. I suspect that Goodell will try to do whatever he can get away with.

He needs to save face in front of the other 31..... he will have a need to do something to appease the masses.

We should prepare to riot.

How does Patriots Nation go about civil disobedience? Burning Goddell in effigy? Sloganism on ESPN? Twitter hashtag #PatriotsJustice

I started watching football with my father when I was 5 years old. I love the game, but this is the first time in my life that I don't look forward to the new season. I am sick of the NFL. I'm sick of their rules, and propaganda. If the Pats are punished in any way for this crap, without evidence, I don't think that I can continue to watch this sport. It is becoming to damn stressful. We Patriot Fans WILL NEVER BE ALLOWED TO WATCH OUR TEAM PLAY IN PEACE, UNTIL they become an under five hundred team. This league hates the success this franchise has. They absolutely hate it. They change rules to hurt them, they make up crap to tarnish their reputation. What's next? I just can't stand it anymore. It's to STRESSFUL.
