Ineligible receiver rule changed

They remind me of the Colts.

lol it's not even that hard to stop. How is this different than trying to outlaw the wildcat?

How do we know this wasn't BB's master plan all along (he always thinks long term)?

Do you guys think he's playing checkers? :D

Yea - I guess you can throw games for a whole season (completely within the rules) and get the number one pick in the draft - who was the best college QB of a decade - and keep the integrity of the NFL intact - but an Ineligible receiver announced over the PA - that's going too far.

LOL.........BB probably has a list of this crap to pull

he pulled the last one out at the best possible moment

They cannot imitate, they cannot duplicate all they can do is make the rules different.... meanwhile in the bowels of Gillette, Ernie Adams and the rest of the inner circle pour over the rule book, looking to different ways to confuse the churls..

BB noted that this will impact other formations like the punt coverage........I will find it hysterical when the rule comes back to bite the Ravens in the *** on punt coverage or some other formation they had no idea that it impacted.

He's already thinking this through. For example, on a punt, if the punt formation team lines up a player in a manner that breaks this rule, he'll simply drop the entire team back into a more favorable punt return formation, because the punting team has made it illegal to run anything but a punt. Or something like that. Just watch him play with their heads. The more they try and limit him, the more opportunity they give him. Like trying to squeeze peanut butter in your hand; the tighter you squeeze, the more it escapes.

New England got it from the college level and Detroit. They didn't re-invent the wheel here.

New England used this three times on one drive against Baltimore and maybe a couple of times against the Colts. So, about 5 plays in two games and the rest of the league gets worked up enough about this to change the rules.

I'm not what's harder to believe, that the teams in favor of this rule think they are protecting themselves by doing this or that they refuse to enact the goal line cameras, which would help every team.

The NFL is becoming less fun to watch.

Everyone's blaming the Baltimore Ravens, but my sources tell me this came about because of pressure from EA Sports, who didn't want to have to program these types of plays into the next Madden the way they did the read option.

The Ravens (including retirees like Ray) are a bunch of babies...
On the other hand they certainly gloat when they win.

Illegal contact still isn't a rule in Madden. Doubt they'd put that in the game even though it's in the NCAA game lmao.

Belichick already is on to the next formation.
I bet he regrets getting Mora his job.
Also these rule changes make football unfun.
Its taking strategy out of the game.
I would say you just line up and punch the other team in the mouth but you can't do that anymore either.
I might become a CFL or arena league fan way this is going.

This is great for BB's legacy. Now they can add "NFL rules had to be changed because he was out smarting the other teams coaches by using the rules to win"

Someday maybe everyone in the NFL can get a trophy like they do with kids so that nobody feels bad.
