I have been a lifelong Top Gear fan since the new format came out in 2002. Didn't know if anyone else in here shared my thoughts on this but it truly is the end of an era. Will miss this show immensely and the chemistry the the hosts shared.

I can only hope that some how the three of them will find their way onto a new show on a different network and continue where they left off.

They'll all probably get another show straight away. Apparently Sky are already out of the running but that still leaves 3 networks that stand out as possibilities.

Sure hope so. That would be the ideal ending to this.

Cutting off one's nose to spite one's face is always a great tactical approach.

or they could move forward with someone that is not a complete *******

A guy got popped in the mouth, cried about about it like a little *****, and even went to the hospital over a bloody lip. Meanwhile, the BBC allowed Saville to rape kids for 40 years.

And then compared Clarkson to Saville.

Way to go BBC

I would love to see Netflix pick up the show. They can stay in the UK and even lease the same track at the airport. With Netflix running the show, there won't be any censors to cause problems.

Great job making it about the other guy. Clarkson knew he was on probation and decided to have himself a tirade about not getting a warm dinner and then punched his co-worker in the face. How did he think that would end?

Which made it even more likely that BBC would not put up with much more baloney from Clarkson.

Appar3ently BBC wil try to continue the show without Clarkson. But I agree, it won't be the same. Those are some massive shoes to fill. The other two have done shows without Clarkson when Clarkson was out due to a car accident. But I think the other two have interests outside of Top Gear. So who knows? Carrying on as a trio on another network would be ideal.

I didn't make it about the other guy, at all. I just demonstrated how minor and overblown the triggering incident was. I also didn't bring up the obvious point about the liberals wanting Clarkson gone over comments he's made in the past.

But you keep trying!

There is a ton people wanting them here in the States. However those same people suggest it would be impossible to get funding due to their "humor" not flying here. They are probably right which doesn't say much for the climate here I would say.

Humor. Reminds me I'm on a Viking River Cruise in Germany. Our hot tour hostess walking through the town points out a comedy club. I said, "Wait! They have comedy in GERMANY???" I though she was gonna kill me. She could have too, but I would have loved it, being crushed by... But I digress.

In case you didn't know, there is an American version of the show on the history channel. But it kinda sucks. The BBC "Americanized" it and made it too much about pickup trucks and American stereotypes. And there's few European supercars. Plus the American presenters are weenies.

PS - I guess the people who think British humor wouldn't fly over here are unfamiliar with the legendary status Monty Python has in the US. Or the popularity of shows like Benny Hill and the UK Top Gear.

Oh I am well aware of the USA "Low" Gear. I'm a car nut and I watch Top Gear BBC for the supercars. I could care less about a Camry or a 150. Weenies is an understatement. If this country was right in the head it would be an NBC show come September. Clarkson, May, Hammond and the whole gang. Manufacturers would flock to them knowing they always do them right, even if they point out shortcomings. The ratings would be through the roof, until some pathetic civil action group would jump on them.

I agree that the libtards wanted Clarkson out but he made it nice and easy for them. Is there any company who wouldn't sack one employee for punching another? That's a straight sackable offense pretty much everywhere.

And I speak as a Brit that despises the BBC and saw Top Gear as its only redeeming feature.

May and Hammond both said it was nothing. The BBC was looking for something. Anything. Hell, they could have set him up. Who knows. The pressure was mounting especially after his "slope" comment. They got their wish and their ratings will sink. Fast.

Odd question for a football board...

Pretty much every company ever formed makes exceptions. It all depends on what they want. Hell (and why I noted the oddity of your post on a football board), the fact that there are full-on fights in football training camps isn't anything approaching a secret, yet those guys aren't getting canned over it.

You said he "cried about about it like a little *****".

Yes, even paranoids have enemies, right Henry? Liberals run the world (strange, given how the richest people are conservatives) and us 'regular blokes' are under siege. But you keep trying!
