Florio: Jets File Tampering charges AGAINST Pats

And that's absurd. I have no love for Goodell but I do believe he understands basic English and he would have to be ignorant of it to do as you suggest he will do. The real strawman is taking the cynicism of Goodell to the point where he doesn't understand basic English.

I'm not claiming he doesn't understand basic English. Of course he does. Of course he knows NE didn't tamper. Notice I said "falsely equate". Not "ignorantly equate" or "unknowingly equate". My theory is that even though he knows and understands that NE didn't tamper, he will equate the two (figuring that most people and the non-NE media won't make the distinction) and blow off the charges NE filed against NYJ.

So yes it means the same on my language. NO ONE here is saying that Kraft tampered, everybody who is worried is worried because in the lawyers language they can get any fragment of a text and transform that in a different thing. Knowing that the NFL lacks judgement and reason in everything they judge, some people like me understand this can have in the best case scenario NO EFFECT on the investigation that are going on right now, but in the worst case scenario or even in a likely scenario, it can have a negative effect for us because no one expects Goodell to act in a reasonable way.

Disagree - the best case scenario is that Goodell and the league offices see Johnson's spurious rebuttal charge as an insult to the league and so they hit him harder.

That's what I expect, honestly.

I don't see a single person here worried that what Kraft did was tampering, so you can stop chucking that straw man in the fireplace.

What some people (including me) are worried about is that this will give Goodell an opportunity/cover to blow off the charges filed by NE by falsely equating Johnson's statement with Kraft's.

Goodell is image-driven. He's saying to himself "Hmmm. I'm going to have to let NE off on Deflategate. Kraft's statement isn't tampering, but too many people are too stupid to make the distinction. If on top of issuing no punishment for Deflategate I penalized the Jets for what Johnson said while doing nothing about what Kraft said, the NY and other non-NE media will crucify me again for being in Kraft's pocket. Screw that. I'll play it like what Johnson and Kraft said are the same and blow off both tampering allegations."

Again, I think your cynicism towards Goodell has taken you off of the deep edge. I understand why you are skeptical of Goodell but you are taking it to the point where he's actually a ******. If Roger Goodell doesn't understand the difference between want and wanted then he's too stupid to hold clearance signs dressed as a banana in front of the mall let alone anything above that.

And my apology in advance to Jetsfan25678 if that was insulting to him. In sure he looks just fine in the banana suit

The Jets are now tampering with what is classified as tampering.

Clown shoes organization from top to bottom.

I would take no compensation at all from the Rats if the NFL would just move to dissolve the Rats franchise, make all their current players free agents, and salt their fields so that nothing ever grows on it again.

Really, it is the right thing to do, and best for everyone in the long run.
Besides Revis and Richardson, there's really nothing to salvage from that dumpster fire. Give us the draft picks they will otherwise waste.

Can you please read what I actually wrote?? Nowhere did I say he doesn't understand the difference between what Johnson and Kraft said.

To try equate the two he would have to be willing to look as if he doesn't understand English at a second grade level. Even Goodell wouldn't go that far. You guys have become so paranoid about Goodell and the league that it is beyond the absurd.

So you are saying that he clearly understands the difference but would be willing to act as if he doesn't to satisfy the Jets and their fans?

Unless Goodell's ties to the NYJ really remain a conflict for him, I think he's just as likely to find the Jets guilty of filing frivolous charges, here.

Granted, here's actual video footage of Goodell coming to an important decision:

So I hesitate to try and predict the actions of a man as unreasonable as Roger Goodell. But, from his own words several years ago, he does not want teams trolling the way the Jets are right now.

I think people are missing the real story here. The Jets must realize they are about to get slammed by the league for repeatedly tampering with Revis or they wouldn't have reacted this desperately. If they thought this was going away without c serious sanction they would have stayed quiet and let it pass, it's because they know they are about to lose a high pick that they attempted a Hail Mary. They know this will fail but want to try and make it appear as though they are being treated unfairly for a fan base that is too ignorant to know the difference.

For me it is in fact sir but I believe I have studied English enough to understand the basic structures of the language, you on the other hand seems to be lacking text interpretation, let's see if I get this right, I just typed text interpretation on google and I got this on my first answer:

"Interpretation: Analyzing a text for underlying meaning."

So yes it means the same on my language. NO ONE here is saying that Kraft tampered, everybody who is worried is worried because in the lawyers language they can get any fragment of a text and transform that in a different thing. And again your paranoia is consuming you. Goodell would have to be willing to act as of he does not understand basic English to rule the way you guys suggest he would rule, and even he is not willing to go that far.

So say nice things about your ex employee = tampering? If the answer is yes. Sean Payton just did it. He said Cadet is an amazing receiver and they would love to bring him back if they didnt agree to bring Spiller.

This is getting really redundant, I'm just going to let the chips fall and see how all of these issues play out. My opinion is that Patriot fans are going to have some really good weeks in the near future. They will be cleared of any wrongdoing in the idiotic deflategate issue and the league will give them a very high draft pick for the Jets tampering while finding the counterclaim to be absurd and dismissing it.

We will see if the cynicism regarding Goodell is well founded or paranoia?

A fish rots from the head down. That's why the Patriots are who they are, and the Jets are a continuous joke.

Exactly. I just watched Payton, Caroll, and other coaches taking about players on other teams and nothing they said was any different than what Kraft said. If Goodell rules the way some here are suggesting them about 25 other teams are going to have similar tampering charges filed by sundown.

I agree, the possible downside to the Rats' attempted revenge play is a further delay in the tampering case ruling.

I think the Jets seriously pissed off the league with this filing.
