Is English a second language for the people pissed at Kraft? It must be because the inability to understand past, present, and future tense is clearly lacking. This is as close to tampering as Belichick saying he loved Lawrence Taylor is. Better give the Giants the Patriots first rounder.

I would take no compensation at all from the Rats if the NFL would just move to dissolve the Rats franchise, make all their current players free agents, and salt their fields so that nothing ever grows on it again.

Really, it is the right thing to do, and best for everyone in the long run.

Anyone who seriously thinks Kraft said anything that could be construed as tampering needs to stop what they are doing right this second, which means now, and run immediately to the nearest English as a Second Language class. I will pick up the tab for Patriot fans, there's no sense doing so for JETFANS because that's well above their capacity for learning and would be futile.

Exactly. Everyone has their dander up right now. The Jets are on the defensive. The league office is ultra-sensitive and scatterbrained (even more so) right now. Even though what he said is innocuous, Bob should have been a bit more careful. It's a shame, really.

Hope someone in the Pats camp brings this up to the league- if the league decides to investigate. Don't get me going if they decide to take this seriously...

Anyone in their right mind knows what they did was tampering, which is why it was said that Woody himself called Kraft to apologize, it was never about did they tamper, it was always what the punishment will be.

I don't see a single person here worried that what Kraft did was tampering, so you can stop chucking that straw man in the fireplace.

What some people (including me) are worried about is that this will give Goodell an opportunity/cover to blow off the charges filed by NE by falsely equating Johnson's statement with Kraft's.

Goodell is image-driven. He's saying to himself "Hmmm. I'm going to have to let NE off on Deflategate. Kraft's statement isn't tampering, but too many people are too stupid to make the distinction. If on top of issuing no punishment for Deflategate I penalized the Jets for what Johnson said while doing nothing about what Kraft said, the NY and other non-NE media will crucify me again for being in Kraft's pocket. Screw that. I'll play it like what Johnson and Kraft said are the same and blow off both tampering allegations."

What if this came all the way up from Obama? This is much bigger than Goodell.

And that's absurd. I have no love for Goodell but I do believe he understands basic English and he would have to be ignorant of it to do as you suggest he will do. The real strawman is taking the cynicism of Goodell to the point where he doesn't understand basic English.

Thats what I am concerned about. That Goody wants to cite the "unqualified" word in the anti-tampering laws and basically say, "Look fellas, you both tampered. Let's call it even, huh?" and discard context and present and future tense words that are taught in elementary school.

I know its crazy but I have a zero level of confidence in the league to do the right thing.

For me it is in fact sir but I believe I have studied English enough to understand the basic structures of the language, you on the other hand seems to be lacking text interpretation, let's see if I get this right, I just typed text interpretation on google and I got this on my first answer:

"Interpretation: Analyzing a text for underlying meaning."

So yes it means the same on my language. NO ONE here is saying that Kraft tampered, everybody who is worried is worried because in the lawyers language they can get any fragment of a text and transform that in a different thing. Knowing that the NFL lacks judgement and reason in everything they judge, some people like me understand this can have in the best case scenario NO EFFECT on the investigation that are going on right now, but in the worst case scenario or even in a likely scenario, it can have a negative effect for us because no one expects Goodell to act in a reasonable way.
