Florio: Jets File Tampering charges AGAINST Pats

What the Jets have tried to do is taint public opinion by trivializing BOTH tampering charges. The Jets charge is ridiculous, but now being associated with such a tit-4-tat charges, they both seem diminished.
You already have all the moron press laughing and joking about it. Soon both charges will be considered a joke!

"Everyone in our organization wanted Wes Welker back," Kraft told reporters. "Anyone who doubts that, or thinks we weren’t serious, just doesn’t get it. Like I’ve said many times, I really wanted Wes to be with us through the rest of his career, but it takes two sides to do a deal. I really believe in this case, his agents misrepresented what his market value was. When you come right down to the bottom line, he accepted a deal in Denver which is less money than what we offered him."

I am amazed how many of you think this will be nothing. We were front page top story on CNN because of air in a football. Not much is going on in the world right now and news sites need the clicks.

I envision flights to AZ being booked right now to camp outside Belichick and Kraft's hotels, just waiting to assault them with accusations. Or they might save on travel and just hit them at the airport back East when they arrive home tomorrow. "Bill, will you look into the camera and apologize to America for your role in Revis being tampered with?"

The problem with that line of reasoning is that the League and Goodell don't want them to be taken as a joke. They want teams taking them more seriously not less. I have to think they are pissed by the jets basically making a mockery of the situation.

So, tampering.....

“He’s an outstanding football player,’’ Jones said late Tuesday afternoon from the NFL Annual Meetings. “Under the right circumstances it would have been good for everybody for him to be here.

“On the other hand, our best chance of getting better was to make the decision we made.’’

- Jerry Jones, after Murray signed with the Eagles

"I think anytime you lose a quality player like that, especially in the short term, that is to your detriment," Mayhew said over lunch with beat reporters today at the NFL owners meetings. "I think in the long term, I think we're going to be glad we don't have that contract on our books. But in the short term, that's an issue."

- Lions GM Martin Mayhew, after losing Suh to the Dolphins

“The fan in me wishes he were still us,” he began, speaking about Revis. “We thought we made a very competitive offer. We wanted to keep him. We wanted him in our system, and we have certain disciplines. We had hoped it worked out. It didn’t. I think he feels a great commitment there [with New York], so we understand going back. We’re sorry he didn’t stay with us.”
Kraft bristled when a New York reporter suggested that Patriots head coach Bill Belichick no longer wanted Revis, widely considered the best corner in the game.

“Bill wanted him,” Kraft stressed. “But, I mean… you probably don’t have to work on a budget. When you get a budget, there are certain things you can’t do. We have a budget. In the end, we’ll judge it by what the results are, what happens in wins and losses at the end of the year. Also, it takes two sides. I think each side, in the end, did what was right for them.”

- Bob Kraft, after losing Revis

Atta boy, Jest! Dumbasses...

I hope the media does make a huge deal about it. Hopefully they call it Tampergate. Hopefully Jerome Bettis starts crying on air. It just waters down all the other ********, and exposes it for the nonsense that it is.

I can't believe they even made that claim that is as innocent as innocent could be.

No words for how pathetic a
move this is by the Jets. I would be completely embarrassed if I was a fan

Sometimes I wonder if the jets enjoy being the joke of the NFL

OK, it looks like both teams tampered, but there is an obvious solution.

Pats, you will give your 1st round pick to the Rats.

Rats, you will give your 1st round pick to the Pats....and you will forfeit your 2nd round pick for starting the whole thing.

Now shake hands, and let's get back to playing football.

King Solomon couldn't have come up with a fairer solution.

= Manish Mehta's weekend job

A well calculated attempt to diminish any wrongdoing on their part. Who was asking these questions and which media members were standing around?

#Stinggate2?

So, haven't the Jets just admitted that they did tamper now? Manish went to bat for them saying "that's not tampering", but now the Jets tried to claim Kraft's past-tense comments are tampering... So I would think Johnson's future-tense comments would therefore certainly be tampering by their own admission here.

What's even the goal here? It seems so stupid. "Oh man, they are trying to say we tampered... Well... we didn't!!! F you!!! Ha ha... Yeah, you got nothin... Oh what did you say??? You think you gave a competitive offer and it didn't work out??? TAMPERING!!! DROP THE HAMMER GOODY!! Cheatriots!! ZERO superbowls since Tampergate!!!!!!!"

Sounds like Same Old Jest to me.

When all else fails break out your tried and try defense...

"The Pats do it too!"

It all makes sense now. How could she deal with that (albeit rich as hell) moron? Of course woodys gf would spam our site offering her wares.

Just curious, how many comments on PFT since this story broke @9:00 PM?

That Jet organization really is dumber than a box of rocks....
