Well, the Fletcher comp stood even after we got Blount back here. Cool. We have some great flexibility to play with.

Since the 97th must be used, how much do you wanna bet the 96th gets moved ?

I'd bet the farm on it....maybe as a peice for moving up in the 1st or 2nd rounds.....thanks to Jets stupidity that may not be needed though:D

This draft is gonna be another BB classic I think as we will all insert our informed opinions and watch them disintegrate by Day 2, lol

It will be a fun draft I think, both in reality and reactions here on the boards.....hell I always do a few "go figures" every year:confused:

I really hope some of these picks are traded forward to 2016, to get full value out of them. Otherwise, we'll have a quality rookies in Training Camp that we subsequently lose on waivers.

It's really, really hard to flip a day 3 pick for a future pick.

If there's a good enough offer, I'm OK with trading 96. :)

And as it stands right now, the Patriots are in line to pick up three compensatory draft picks in 2016:

- a 3rd for Darrelle Revis
- a 6th for Vince Wilfork
- a 6th for Shane Vereen

The other additions/departures cancel out.

Assuming Fletcher and McClain both make the 53, which is by no means a given.

and more when we get the jets tamperin picks..i like

That's a really sweet cluster of picks for this draft. They can stay put or move up if they want to. And that isn't counting the #6 overall, which makes it even sweeter....
If they don't trade up I hope they stay put and use at least those first five. I'm sick of BB trading down.

Moved down 12 picks for Ayers, and 9 picks down for Casillas with potential compensation in next years draft. How do you all feel we made out with those trades?

Great haul, now let's put empire to good use

.... This brings their stable to...

1-32, 2-64, 3-96, 3-97, 4-101, 4-131, 6-177, 7-219 and 7-253, for nine total picks. While comp picks can't be traded, the others can,
...
fair

Ok, so the comp picks can't be traded. BUT, if you have consecutive picks you don't want to trade the first one and lose out on the guy you wanted..... Can't you just draft the player the trade partner wants and then trade him for the pick/picks?

Doesn't work to move up, but works for multi picks down or into next year

Is this true? The descriptions of the "secret" formula that I've seen online say that players that are cut are excluded from the formula. Didn't we technically cut Revis, Wilfork & Browner? Or did we just decline to pick up an option for next year? I'm not really up on all the contract details - just wondering how accurate all the stories are about us getting a high comp pick next year really are?

One of the youngest teams in the NFL is about to get even younger... the Pats are continually being rebuilt on the fly, and most do not even notice..

It's the best of both worlds. Young players at reasonable salaries with playoff/championship experience.

Excluding TB, as of right now the oldest player on the roster is the kicker and hes 31.

Nink is the oldest positional player at 31 just few weeks younger than Gost.
